Harmony of the Seas receives her last block during construction

Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's third Oasis class cruise ship, reached another construction milestone, with the installation of her last block at the shipyard in STX France.

Harmony of the Seas will have her inaugural cruise in June 2016.

Royal Caribbean released new photos that show off the construction progress being made on its third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas.

Harmony of the Seas is under construction at the STX shipyard in France and should be ready for her maiden voyage in about a year.

The photos were taken between late May and June 4, 2015 and are all copyright Royal Caribbean International.

Harmony of the Seas construction reaching a milestone

Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, will be reaching a milestone in her construction progress that will bring her one step closer to her debut.

Right now, Harmony of the Seas' metal shell is about 80% complete and the last blocks will be installed in early June.  Following that, she should be set afloat later that month.

Once Harmony of the Seas is floating in water, the next phase of her construction progress can begin.

Aquatic Design & Engineering to create water slides for Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas

Aquatic Design & Engineering will be the creative designer for the water slides on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas.

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Aquatic Design & Engineering President Josh Martin commented on the firm's task in creating the slides, "These are the first real water slides on a Royal Caribbean ship. The goal was to make this a part of the ship's design, to really blend it with the style of the ship."

Martin also revealed Aquatic Design & Engineering had done concept work for Royal Caribbean before but Royal Caribbean had never opted to go with the ship slides.

ADE has designed water features for theme parks and resorts including Disney, and fountains around the world including for the sprawling presidential palace in Abu Dhabi.

Royal Caribbean puts Harmony of the Seas cruises on sale for Crown and Anchor Society members

Royal Caribbean is allowing its Crown and Anchor Society members the first chance to book their spot aboard Harmony of the Seas.

Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship, will have her inaugural cruise in June 2016.  The ship combines features found on older Oasis-class cruise ships as well as some innovations first introduced on the Quantum-class of ships. In addition, there are water slides aboard the ship, which is a first for Royal Caribbean.

Those Crown and Anchor members interested in booking can call Royal Caribbean directly, consult a travel agent or book online.

The general public will be able to book their cruise on Harmony of the Seas starting on March 19.

Royal Caribbean releases full Harmony of the Seas deck plans

Royal Caribbean revealed today the full deck plans for its third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas.

The deck plans list all of the onboard restaurants, bars, lounges and entertainment the ship will offer.

Harmony of the Seas will feature many restaurants from the Quantum-class of ships as well as the new water slides that will be on the ship.

Harmony of the Seas will debut in Europe

Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, will debut in Europe and offer European cruises in summer 2016 before she makes her way to the United States.

Harmony of the Seas will begin sailings in April 2016 and will offer 7-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome to the Western Mediterranean.  Harmony of the Seas will visit ports such as Palma, Florence and Naples.

After the summer 2016 season, Harmony of the Seas will head to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to offer cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean.

Harmony of the Seas is under construction at STX Europe in France.

Harmony of the Seas will be available for booking April 2nd

Royal Caribbean has pushed back the date for putting Harmony of the Seas sailings on sale to April 2, 2015.

Originally sailings for what will eventually be the largest cruise ship in the world were set to go on sale on March 11, 2015 but Royal Caribbean confirmed in Twitter that they will now go on sale in 3 more weeks.
