Oliver
Going on an Alaska cruise in July. My wife says she wants to go rafting. I would think it would be too cold. Has anybody done this before? Thanks
Baked Alaska
Agreed, it does look cold. However, we are stream fishing at several ports in Alaska next July (too) and I suspect it might be a tad chilly, too, but not like rafting. The key thing is you're wearing a drysuit, so it was a tad on the muggy side in the suit. Killer part was no gloves, fingers around the halfway mark started to become numb. Worst part was at the end unzipping the drysuit, that was the only time I became extremely cold. That was more due to thermal shock, going from warm in the dry suit to the cool air. Once on the warm bus it was a thought of the past. Might help give an idea of what was worn
