themillennialcruiser
Question, does Royal Caribbean open up additional spots for shore excursions on board. I ask because some of the excursions I want to do for my cruise only have one spot available. What is the best thing to do? Book one spot for me and hope the best for my spouse?! Please help! Hard to say, but I'd wait and re-check if capacity changes (i.e. people cancel). You can always ask onboard. As an example, we waited to book a Kennedy Space Center excursion until on Anthem, told it was all sold out and was put on a waitlist. Later in the cruise, they found space for us. Can't say that will happen for you, but people cancel all the time.
WAAAYTOOO
Sometimes, if an excursions is very popular and they (the tour operator) have the ability to, they will add an additional excursion of the same type. I've only heard of this happening on very rare occasions but I have heard of it happening.

Keep checking the Cruise Planner, if there is no luck you should try talking with the shore excursion manager on boarding day, there's nothing to lose.
