Guest toodle68
We are planning an Alaskan cruise in 2019 and they open up for booking next week. We decided on a south bound since we want to get the long part of the travel over with at the beginning.. and we want to do a pre-tour.. Looking at the options for 2018, there are several available and it is confusing to see what each one offers over the other.. there is no compare button. Anyone have any insight into these ? We figure 10 or 11 days max since we also want to spend a couple of days in Vancouver. It feels like starting in Fairbanks would be better? so we do not end up back tracking a route we already traveled? https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/10NightAlaskaInteriorExpressCruisetour2BPreTour-RD10B802?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F28%2F2018 https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/10NightAlaskaWildlifeExpressCruisetour1BPreTour-RD10B801?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F28%2F2018 https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/10NightAlaskaWildlifeExpressCruisetour1BPreTour-RD10B801?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F28%2F2018 https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/11NightWildernessFrontierExplorerCruisetour4BPreTour-RD11B804?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F27%2F2018 https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/11NightMountainValleyExplorerCruisetour3BPreTour-RD11B803?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F27%2F2018
whitsmom
We are doing the 10 day Northbound from Vancouver to Seward in July 2018. We are flying into Vancouver a couple of days early and the 3 days inland at the end as part of our cruisetour.
mworkman
It appears that they (RCCL) have removed the details out of the tours like it had in the past. We are looking at the Denali 8B or Wilderness Express 8B for 2019 sailing. update: Those two i mentioned above are the same itinerary. mworkman
@toodle68 it were my choice of the one's you listed...i would go with this one https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/11NightWildernessFrontierExplorerCruisetour4BPreTour-RD11B804?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F27%2F2018 But why stop there when you can do this one https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/13NightAlaskaWildernessSpectacularCruisetour8BPreTour-RD13B808?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F25%2F2018
rjweber3
You didn't list the bets cruise-tours IMHO. My recommendation would be something like https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/11NightMountainValleyExplorerCruisetour3BPreTour-RD11B803?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sDateMin=2018-05-01&sDateMax=2018-05-31&sailDate=05%2F21%2F2018. We love the Wilderness Express train and Talkeetna is a really nice stop. We also have had great weather sailing in May.
Guest toodle68
After some more reading we actually picked out the 3B tour.. but then we realized that it starts on a Monday.. Sunday would be travel day.. which means we actually have an extra day and could do the 12 day!.. Which starts on the Sunday.. https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/12NightMountainPanoramaAdventureCruisetour5BPreTour-RD12B805?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=08%2F26%2F2018

Actually it has not too bad since I was expecting to have to wait until March when the Alaskan cruises are normally released. I just hope the prices are as low as people say when they are first open.
