cruisy Posted May 27, 2024 Report Posted May 27, 2024 We are set to embark on our Allure of the Seas adventure in April 2025 and will have a 20 month old. We understand that you can reserve a 'pack and play' otherwise known as a portacot (or portable cot). We will be in the 'ocean view room with a balcony' and want to understand the configuration or whether it will even be possible with a toddler in the same room. Does it also matter which side of the room the bed should be on? Should the bed be closer to the window or should the bed be closer to the bathroom? Also, what activities are on board for the baby and how does the nursery work? So many questions! Any other helpful information or tips will be greatly appreciated!! Quote

Doesn't matter, just personal preference and how your room is configured. 4 hours ago, cruisy said: Also, what activities are on board for the baby and how does the nursery work? https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/04/07/introduction-bringing-toddlers-royal-caribbean-cruise Quote
Crown&AnchorEsq Posted May 28, 2024 Report Posted May 28, 2024 We did Oasis in a similar category with 1 yo in the pack n play/portacot and a 3 yo on the sofa bed. You can fit both with sofa bed open if you move the night stand. It is still tight and our cabin attendant was less than enthused but we made it work. There should be plenty of space if you do not need the sofa bed open. As for activities, see the RCblog post. Also, with Allure, you have access to the carousel so become familiar with when that's open as its liable to be popular with a 20mo. You will want to make AO your absolute first stop on board as soon as it is open so that you can register the little one and reserve your hours. As mentioned you will be limited at first but there is usually more availability later in the week. My advice is reserve the times you absolutely must have and then prioritize the nice to haves earlier in the week. After the first or second day they are pretty happy to give you reservation slots for any time they have availability. There is also a climbing area in AO and you can borrow toys, just ask. Quote
Kayleigh Posted May 28, 2024 Report Posted May 28, 2024 If you have Facebook, I would highly recommend joining Royal Caribbean Moms at Sea group! You can connect with other moms who are going on a cruise or who have cruised in the past with kiddos! I love this group and have gained so much! WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
