I'm an experienced rider (spin instructor and road rider), but not necessarily mountain biking. I am debating if I ditch my family for the morning to go do this by myself for a few hours before meeting back up in town. All suggestions would be welcome. I don't know that I'd advise tackling something labeled "experienced" if you really aren't familiar with it. But I'm fairly risk averse. Kris78 Posted March 28 Author Report Share Posted March 28 I've for sure mountain biked before and it was no problem, just wondering about how it is in Alaska. They don't really provide good descriptions of the trails that will be taken. I am less worried about getting injured, just don't know if its really that much trail riding or just a mix. They also say the bike has electric power to it so it seems like something I would be okay with. Just can't find any reviews on this specific excursion online and I would like more details. KJones Posted March 28 Report Share Posted March 28 I second the suggestion to get the travel insurance (in general, regardless of whether you do this excursion). And if you do get it, read the policy to verify if mountain biking is one of the exclusions. It may be considered 'too extreme' for it to be covered (though seems a far cry from being the same as skydiving). Just something to consider!
