So that depends. They use to allow you book and apply the prime certification to any 7n cruise as long as its not past final payment. Also you can't apply to NextCruise booked cruises that have been prebooked. Also only 7n cruises or less on ships that have been in service a year or longer, so no icon sailings.

I agree with @Ampurp85.  Back in the good ol' days of the casino program you could apply a certificate to an already-booked cruise but I really don't think they allow that anymore.  We did it many times in the past.  One year, I had booked a B2B on Anthem and then later applied each of our annual cruises to those 2 bookings and upgraded them both to Star Class.  Boy, those were the days !  LOL  Another advantage to doing that is you can take advantage of any price drops that happen between the time you book the original cruise(s) and the time you apply your comp - and that used to happen frequently back then.  Today, there is almost never any kind of price drop so you would end up paying MORE for your cruise than you originally did, even if they allow you to apply your comp certs, which I'm fairly sure they would not.

So, the bottom line is....even if they DO allow you to apply a comp cert to an already-booked cruise, they are essentially cancelling your original booking and re-booking at the prevailing rate, so it would be unlikely that applying the comp cert would actually be a wise move, anyway.  With today's prices just ever-increasing, your base fare would almost certainly be higher than it was when you originally booked.

If I book a cruise now (for June 2024) and then qualify for Prime on my next cruise in December, can I use the free cruise for the one I already booked and get my money back?

I dont believe so. You'd have to cancel the original booking and then rebook as if it's a new booking.
