Question about Alaska cruises, stops in Canada and ID requirements

Then luckily for them, the requirements are the exact same as every other cruise with a foreign port stop…which is every other cruise. There is no passport requirement to get off the ship.

I took the White Pass railway excursion from Skagway and upon arrival at the end of the train ride in Canadian territory,Canadian customs boarded and checked our passports. So there are excursions that do require them but we were free to roam in Victoria without having to show our passport.
