Jonesy
If you take an Alaska cruise that starts and ends in Seattle, do you need a passport to get off the ship at a Canadian port? I know we don't need it on Caribbean cruises, but I have no idea how Alaska cruises work.
Ryan79
No, but taking it with you is an excellent idea
smokeybandit
Alaska is one of the few places I had to show an ID to get back on the ship.

Then luckily for them, the requirements are the exact same as every other cruise with a foreign port stop…which is every other cruise. There is no passport requirement to get off the ship. Colon
There are some Excursions that requere passport. I really don’t know if they asked for the passport, but some highlights of state that is required.
Kathleen
I took the White Pass railway excursion from Skagway and upon arrival at the end of the train ride in Canadian territory,Canadian customs boarded and checked our passports. So there are excursions that do require them but we were free to roam in Victoria without having to show our passport. Jonesy
