Playmakers on unlimited dining plan and Diamond concierge for res assist?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Question for anyone who has sailed since the Unlimited Dining Plan revamp please: as I understand it, we get one specialty restaurant per day during port days and a dinner and lunch on at sea days. Is it possible to use Playmakers as a lunch then go to Chops or Izumi for dinner? Not seeing a great deal of value in paying for the plan under the new rules but it would make sense if it could include a Playmakers lunch so appreciate the clarification!

Second question: has any of our Diamond members had success with seeking assistance for dining reservations through the Diamond lounge concierge? We had great luck on our cruise last fall with the Suite concierge but wasn't sure if it could be expected with the Diamond one.

Thanks so much for the help! ❤️

I can't speak to your diamond concierge question but to your first question.

You can go to multiple specialty restaurants in a day with the UDP. The daily limit applies to restaurants with a la cart pricing like playmakers that you can only go to once a day. This limit is for each a la cart restaurant so you can go to two different ones in the same day.

For example:

Mason Jar for brunch

Chops for lunch

Playmakers for afternoon snacks

Izumi for pre-dinner a la cart sushi

Hooked for dinner

Giovanni's for dessert

You can actually visit as many restaurants as you can get reservations for. It is not one specialty restaurant per day. Places like Playmakers and Johnny Rockets don't require reservations, so you could visit both in the same day but be advise its only once per day. That means you cannot use $10/20 credit and try to return to use the other.

The diamond concierge can assist and make any and all reservations. But be advised they usually aren't available on embarkation until after 5.

On Oasis now.  The Diamond Concierge made our specialty dining reservations (BOGO) but was not able to do MDR.  You have to make MDR rezzies directly with them (since you are asking about UDP I’m guessing you don’t care about MDR….just added that bit for others who might be reading this).

As @Ampurp85suggested, there are no limits to where you can eat for specialty as long as 1) they can accommodate you and 2) you do not exceed 1 visit per day for the a La carte restaurants.
