ColdRingo
Just curious to get some insight from the group here.... The setup: we're headed on a cruise in September (7 nights out of Fort Lauderdale), and it's a big group: my wife and I, my brother and his son, my sister and mom, and my daughter and her friend. We have 4 separate reservations that we'll link together at some point. The thing that happened: my brother and his son (who are on one of those 4 previously mentioned reservations) received a notification via the Royal App that they could buy the Deluxe Beverage package for 40% off. And, 40% off is a pretty nice deal for those! However, none of the rest of us received that offer, and the packages are currently 20% off on the website and the Royal app for the rest of us. The question: what gives? Is it random? It's not the end of the world, but 40% off would be really nice for the rest of us (esp. me since I'm buying 4 of those packages).... Anyway, just curious if anyone has experienced something like this or if we know the mechanics behind those offers. Thanks all! asquared17
we got this message too and we’re sailing tomorrow, so there is no way we could purchase as the cruise planner is locked 48 hours prior to departure. i'm thinking this was another IT goof; similar to when we were all told to report to our muster stations two weeks ago (despite most of us not even being on a ship, much less have an upcoming sailing)! Rackham
It was probably a notification that the DBP was up to 40% off. Not that it was 40% off.
FloatyBoaty
I got the message too. Checked all of my upcoming cruises. No better price than I already had and/or wanted to pay. And not 40% on any of them - maybe on somebody's drink package, but not mine.
Pattycruise
The Symphony transatlantic in March has the DBP down to $56. I looked at all of my other cruises....$70 and up.
SJay
I got a 40% discount on Deluxe Drinks Package for Spectrum in the Black Friday sale.
Xtentions
The percent off on these offers rarely mean anything. Look at the price per person instead. Royal plays with the price to make that percent off deal look good when it usually with a dollar or two of the price.

Turns out this was the case - when he went into actually check out the price and maybe purchase it, the price was the same 20% off the rest of us were seeing. Stop teasing us Royal!
