Four of us Posted January 10, 2023 Report Share Posted January 10, 2023 Help! We are flying in Houston, Hobby Airport the day before our cruise. Really struggling with transportation to Galveston and decent lodging that will get us to the cruise port. A little history, we did cruise out of Galveston about 10 years ago. We found this city does not seem to be cruising friendly. Had a bad experience. Hoping that all has changed. Please if you could give us some ideas sure would appreciate it! Thank you in advance! bluebayou Posted January 11, 2023 Report Share Posted January 11, 2023 I’ve sailed out of Galveston 6 times since 2017 and found the Island very easy to navigate (but we drive - though I did pick up a friend at Hobby for our cruise last spring). Cactus527 Posted January 11, 2023 Report Share Posted January 11, 2023 My TA recommended that we stay at an airport near Hobby the night before, then take a taxi/ shuttle back to the airport and catch the RC shuttle to the Galveston port in the morning. I think he said for our summer cruise it would be around $60 round trip (RC shuttle per person). Maybe this would be helpful to you? There are many decent hotels right around Hobby.
