Jeni F Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 If you have done the snorkeling excursion at Nachi Cocum, was it worth the extra cost as compared to just using personal equipment near the shoreline? Quote
wordell1 Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 There is not a reef near the shore at Nachi Cocum. I have never done the excursion, but I am assuming it would bring you to a reef. Quote
USFFrank Posted November 9, 2022 Report Posted November 9, 2022 I did that back in 2019. Someone was walking around offering it. It was in a small boat that holds about 6 people, not a catamaran. Didn't go to any reef, they just stopped a few times and we went in. I was not impressed. Quote
DJsMrs Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 When we were in Cozumel December 2021 we did the excursion to Punta Sur (through Royal - because we had an unvaxxed kid at that time who was too young to be nuked). The excursion was really great. The guides were great, some sight seeing (which I'm typically loathe to do - I despise being herded around like cattle). The beach time was great and there is a boat that can take you out snorkeling at the reef - several people we were with went and said it was pretty amazing. You don't need to book a reservation through RCCL to go to Punta Sur - there are many options, but there is some great snorkeling on the reef (2nd largest on earth - the Mesoamerican Reef, google it!). Julia B Posted Thursday at 07:20 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:20 PM Hi: thinking about this excursion but don't want to do a lot of walking/hiking. Trying to find out if they provide transportation for the "off road" travel part. Thanks Quote
