cooperstraits
I thought I read a while ago that the electrical outlets turn off when the lights are off at night. Is this true? If so how do you charge your phones at night when you are asleep? PeterElicy
whitsmom
You have to keep you key card inserted into a slot inside the cabin and everything will work. I saw on another board when someone suggested to take an old seapass card and keep it inserted in the slot. However, it has been so long since we cruised that I'm not sure where my old ones are. monorailmedic
On newer ships (and some redone staterooms on other ships), you have to put a card into a slot near your dear to keep the stateroom powered. The idea is that you won't use electricity while not in the room if you put your seapass card in the slot. As mentioned, you can put any card in this slot and it will work. Ultimately, to answer your question, no, the outlets will not turn off when you power the lights off at night. Pamela27 and Matt
dejagatkins
On the Oasis in 2016 there was no keycard slot for the lights. There was one main switch that kept it all going and housekeeping said to keep that on all the time or we would not have air cond either. We just turned overhead lights off with a switch. whitsmom
