As Matt mentioned, figure out what you'd spend otherwise.  5-7 drinks is frequently the break even point, but it of course depends on if there is a sale on the package, and what you drink.

You'll find menus at the link below (in addition to others around and about the internet), but as a very vague average, I'd say $9-11/drink is a reasonable enough way to think about things.

I have found the Royal Replenish to be a good value for me and have bought it on the last three cruises.  It's about $20 per day, but with a couple of specialty coffees, a couple of sodas, and a nonalcoholic cocktail in the evening, not to mention bottles of water to take on excursions, it is easy to break even or even do better than that.  However, the value of a drink package suffers dramatically as you add port stops.  For instance, on our next cruise in July, we are on a 13 night voyage with a single sea day with 5 overnights and several late night stops.  Since we'll be off the ship so much, there's no way I can get the value out of the drink package.

Hi Hunter

While this link is for another site it's a very good article on the RC Drink Packages that will give you a great gage as to pruchase a Drink Package or not.

Hope that helps!

Hunter,

Remember that you have to buy a drink package for your daughter and one for yourself. You can't share a drink package so the price will be double. I don't drink alcohol so I get the Royal Replenish package and as DocLC said I get a great value out of that. On sea days I am in the casino most of the time and drink five to six sodas. I take water on shore excursions and I take two glasses of coke to the room at night to take my medication with.
