Danielle OG
Hello, We will be sailing out of NJ in November on Anthem. Obviously it will be cold. Is there still going to be a sail away party? Also, by which day of the cruise should it be warm enough to be outside in a bathing suit? What are some good nightlife activities for (mostly) non drinkers? Thanks! JohnK6404
I would think so... we went out of NJ in 2013 (mid-OCT) on Explorer and last went out back in 2015 on Liberty (Halloween cruise - last week of OCT) for a 10-night Bermuda/Caribbean cruise. When we were in Bermuda (Day 3), some folks were at the beaches and in the water, but it was a little too cool for us to go swimming. Once we got down near Florida and into the Caribbean, it was definitely warm enough. You can definitely enjoy the hot tubs right away (see the folks in the tub watching the Mets/Cubs game during sail away!)... you can see the band playing just below the big screen. ChessE4
I agree. November and December sailings from Baltimore always had sail away parties, and we even had to muster outside in cold, windy conditions..

We did a 12 night on Anthem in March 2016 (brrrr!). The last day and a half coming back was also pretty cool. You will start to feel some warmth by afternoon of day 2. And who knows, NJ has been known to have 70+ weather in Nov and Dec. You may get lucky. Hopefully you are on a longer sailing like @JohnK6404 was...more warm days in between! Quick thread hijack for John...wasn't your sailing one of the first here for Anthem?

No, we were on Liberty, so it must have been one of her last sailings out of NJ before Anthem arrived. We did actually book a 12-night Southern Caribbean cruise on Anthem at Next Cruise while on Liberty, but had to cancel unfortunately (wife had to change employers as they relocated her position to TX). We still have not been on Anthem and it's still very high on our list, especially because of the convenience (no airfare!). Need to find the right itinerary... done with Bermuda for now and not interested in Canada/New England right now. Loved the longer Southern Caribbean itineraries, but my wife can't take off that much time yet... Skid
Skid
Sorry didn't know whether to give a "like" for the post or a "sad" for the not enough vacation time. Tough calls we have to make on this forum! JohnK6404
