bcarney
This summer we're sailing to Havana, and will be there from 11am until 5:30am the next day. I was wondering how late the currency exchange is open at the port in Cuba? I collect rum, and am planning on bringing a bunch of Canadian dollars with me to exchange into CUCs for my purchases, but don't want to be stuck with a bunch of unspent CUCs if the exchange closes relatively early, especially since they're unusable anywhere else but Cuba. Matt
Great question. Not sure what time the currency conversion closes. My best advice in the interim is take as much cash as you can. You can always re-exchange on the way back to the ship.

Actually that's my concern - I plan on exchanging a bunch of cash into CUCs upon arrival (11am), but I'm concerned I won't be able to exchange back to USD$ when I plan on getting back to the ship (around midnight). mom2mybugs
Can I piggyback on this? Do any us banks convert into cucs before you go or do you have to do it in Cuba? I will be waiting for an answer to the original question too! Jane

Jane It doesn't appear that they do. https://www.tourepublic.com/blog/cuban-currency/#bring-currency mom2mybugs

Ah, I see your point now. Not sure what I'd do in this situation.
