mickjacket
Ok the price on my cruise for Izumi is $45 per person. Go to the menu it has price break down for each dish. So how does that work is it $45 plus what your order?
LWG_UK
I believe there is a pre-cruise offer on for a set meal in Izumi where if you book on board it is a la carte. That's how it was for us when we were looking to book speciality restaurants recently, we ended up with a great deal on the Ultimate Dining Package, with which we get a $35 credit towards the a la carte. Matt
You are referring to a new fixed price menu. That's an option. You could alternatively just make reservations on the ship and pay only for what you order.

sseghini
Sailing on Symphony next week. So is the sushi at Izumi ala carte as in "pay as you go" just like a normal sushi place? The per person charge quoted is basically just a starting point credit and you pay the difference if you go over depending on what you order? Yes, you are correct. Izumi sells individual sushi / sashimi and rolls a la carte, in addition to combination specials and other non-sushi items like udon and ramen. There seems to be some kind of change or maybe trial going on with some of the ships, where instead of getting a per-person credit when you buy a dining package or individual reservation through the Cruise Planner, you instead are put into this prix fixe menu instead. If you find your sailing only has the prix fixe option in the Cruise Planner and that menu doesn't appeal to you, you can always make a reservation for Izumi on board. Then you'll have no advance credit but you'll also be paying for only what you want, rather than being put into a fixed menu.
