  1. We had to wait until 1pm for our sky loft suite.....
  2. I wouldn't get off the boat at a private island if that was the case.
  3. This post gives me anxiety just reading it. Weather cannot be defeated. There were other alternate flights for us.. But the weather in Fort Lauderdale was so horrific the airport was closed for hours... I spent 10 bucks to get to the hotel. 100 dollars for the room. 10 bucks to get from the hotel to the pier. Money well spent. If that 120 dollars was going to prohibit me from cruising I'd have to scrounge elsewhere. I'm not going to risk missing my ship just to save the cost of a hotel.
  4. Coming for work is totally different. Pleasure trips are usually hassel free at customs here.
  5. MDR menus looked pretty standard to me. Beef tenderloin for the second formal night was new to me though. It had always been prime rib.
  6. 1722 is a crown loft suite, is it not?
  7. 1724. I love this suite. Yesterday we had our family (all 10 of them) over for a suite party. I only had to pay for 2 bottles of sparking wine(with a 40% discount). Our genie showed up with 2 additional bottles of sparkling wine, a bottle of chardonnay and a bottle of white zinfandel for no additional charge. She so brought 2 meat blanks and 2 dessert planks from Jamie's.
  8. If PC is the first stop then there is nothing to worry about. Everyone either cleared customs on their way to the ship, or they are a US citizen. Yes, they are technically in international waters while saying from NJ to Fl but I'm pretty sure CPB has better things to do than worry about cruisers who have been on a ship for 2 days. Now a few months ago when they altered the itinerary and PC was on the schedule after foreign stops, that is when Customs and Immigration hell break loose.
  9. I just had Sabor room service delivered to my balcony. Life is good.
  10. Pfft. Change the wedding date.. Nothing gets in the way of a cruise.
  11. Geddy, Neil and Alex are all fine musicians. And I love that Geddy is a hardcore Blue Jays fan and is often seen behind home plate with his own score sheet.. But his voice.. That voice... Ugh.. 2112 is a listenable song.. Because it is an instrumental. Also for the life of me I can't figure out how Rush gets more notoriety as far as Canadian bands go then the Guess Who... Guess who had far more hits... And Burton Cummings can actually sing!
  12. Geddy Lee might be a fine bass player... But the voice.. His voice... I can't listen to it. I'd rather have acid poured on my ear drums.
  13. Scheduled to leave YYZ at 930am. Scheduled to arrive at FLL at 1215pm. At about noon we are cleared for approach. Then we go into a holding pattern for an hour due to t-storms in Fort Lauderdale. After an hour of left turns we are almost out of fuel. We have to land at MCO for jet fuel and to wait out the storm. We landed safely but by the time our bags were off the carousel it was 4pm. If we were flying in the day of departure we would have missed the ship!
  14. I'll give you a detailed a detailed review for the podcast.
  15. Title says it all. I'm on the Harmony in pretty much 2 sleeps. My first time in a Star Class suite. I'll do my best to take pictures of the daily literature they drop off. If you have any questions, let me know..I'll do my best to check in daily. After that, I'll compile a lengthy review.
  16. They aren't forcing anyone to purchase it...they are just prohibiting others from buying it unless everyone over 21 purchases it. nowhere is a gun being held to anyone's head making them buy a package.
  17. If someone is a recovering alcoholic that really isn't RCI's problem. They offer meeting places for Friend's of Bill W. on every ship. If someone is a recovering alcoholic, perhaps their cabin mate shouldn't want to purchase the package? My wife drinks a bit. I drink quite a bit on vacation. I get my monies worth. She doesn't come close. If this policy is rolled out fleetwide then we won't buy the package. No one is being forced to do anything they don't want. You just pay a la carte for each drink. For the record, I do not like the policy. I am a big fan of the current system that doesn't require both to purchase it.. but.. RCI's primary responsibility is to their shareholders. They have to make money, and if they can't make more money using this set up then that is what they will do. I'm not sure what is so difficult to understand.
  18. They can't force you. They just won't allow the person who wants to buy the package to purchase it. Nothing illegal about that.
  19. I just wanted to say that I told you so!
  20. I agree it is news. Disappointing news. Apparently this is the first week that Allure hasn't allowed a single cabin occupant to purchase it.
  21. I read on another site that on board the Allure this week they have implemented the old rule that if one person wants to purchase a beverage package, all guests 21+ in the cabin must purchase it. Apparently if you book in advance you're good to go.
  22. I listened to your listener email on the podcast while driving to work today and they said the RhOS is for sale..... You had not heard such gossip... http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1997/Cruise-Ship%2C-2417-Passengers--3024096/Italy#.WOTZ5XspBnH
  23. I was able to book an A1 with 3 people for March break 2019.
  24. Don't read too much into the pricing. Drink package prices a year ago switched from a standard price and now vary not just ship to ship but voyage to voyage.
