  1. One tip I would add - if budget and scheduling allows, also incorporate a New Zealand cruise into your travels. Australia is a long way to come, so you may as well make it a cost-efficient exercise (one flight, two cruises). As @twangster can attest, NZ will offer some spectacular scenery.
  2. Nice one Jenna. If you're cruising out of Sydney, I recommend booking a hotel at The Rocks (name of the area, not the hotel). It's right on Circular Quay so conveniently close to the terminal, as well as views of the Opera House and Bridge. I've been to all of those island destinations, but the Australian part of the itinerary I have only ever been to Melbourne. Hit me up if you have any questions about those ports. How exciting!
  3. A Covid "outbreak" on Coral Princess is big news here today. Like, come on. Covid is all around and has been for ages now. What difference does it make if it's on a cruise ship?
  4. I couldn't read the article properly Chili, could you cut n paste?
  5. I'm sure this will be the basis of Matt's next blogpost, but here is his latest YouTube vid on it. This ship is a LOT to take in. Personally, less is more, but I'm sure it'll be successful...
  6. Royal Caribbean reveals five-stage plan for region's first ever private resort for cruise passengers - Cruise Passenger Key takeaways: * sailings could commence as early as next Spring. So just twelve months away. * construction to be phased over 5 years * will not be a year round destination for the forseeable future. Construction to occur in winter months.
  7. I saw this article just now. I'm only posting it because of this hilarious statement: “I would love to bring the Prima class to Sydney. But, we obviously have huge limitations in Sydney. If we could convince the government to build another port or raise the bridge, then we would love to home port a ship in Sydney. Norwegian wants to bring Prima to Sydney and demands action on a new port - Cruise Passenger
  8. Well that's a shame. NC and Lifou still open for business: Bienvenue! P&O Cruises makes history as first ship to return to New Caledonia - Cruise Passenger
  9. Singapore is bloody brilliant to visit. Ultra clean, safe and full of great things to do. I couldn't tell you what restrictions are in place as of today, but in my case I'm not cruising until January 2024 so things will almost certainly be different by then. But if I have to do a swab and show my vaxx status, big deal.
  10. As someone from Perth, travelling to Singapore is just as easy as travelling to Sydney. Even then, anything less than 7 nights is not that appealling. Just booked the 9 nighter on Jan 2, via the Singapore website. For a family of 4 it's $1000 cheaper than booking via the Aussie website. That's insane!
  11. Excellent news. It feels like I'm being sneaky. Or maybe I'm just being a rational informed consumer
  12. Booking via the Singapore website is significantly cheaper than the Australian site too. Is there any complication with doing it this way? I did some dummy bookings and didn't run into any hurdles when entering my citizenship, so hopefully all good.
  13. Itineraries have been loaded now, for anyone interested.
  14. Has that been mooted or are you just dreaming out loud?
  15. A Voyager and Radiance class out of Sydney, a Quantum out of Brisbane, and an Oasis out of Singapore. That is my ideal scenario. One can dream...
  16. What @twangstersaid. Nobody will be at the entrance checking ID. If you look clearly underage, expect to be challenged by staff when they notice you. If not, you may be ok.
  17. I've been waiting all week for RC to release its 2023-24 Singapore sailings, which were scheduled to occur the week of 6 June. With no new itineraries opening up I decided to search online for the latest deployment schedule and it now shows that opening week has been delayed. @MattI don't recall seeing this in any of your blog posts, but correct me if I am wrong. I thought some people might like to know.
  18. The Solarium on Quantum has been known to be suite guests only when doing Chinese sailings. But anywhere else, that rule fortunately goes out the window. Jan 2020 I sailed from Singapore, on a non-"culturally enriching" cruise and the Solarium was open to all.
  19. Saw a blackboard menu outside the Whalebone Brewery in Exmouth. It said Soup of the Day - Beer.
