  1. Guilty as well. At least now she knows about our cruise. Booked it in Feb and just told her last week. I'm glad I don't have to sneak around anymore! I think once you have paid for it, you just have to let it go. If you feel you paid a good price, then you did. You will make yourself crazy otherwise.
  2. That makes sense. The only reason we are cruising on Serenade this fall is because that's the ship that was going, where we wanted, when we wanted. Although I think it will be perfect for us as first timers as we don't need a lot of bells and whistles. Just looking forward to relaxing and spending time together.
  3. Maybe they should stop serving food and drinks at sporting events so the athletes can concentrate on their jobs!
  4. What's wrong with the classes below Voyager? I guess maybe wrong is not he correct term. Why wouldn't you recommend ships below voyager class?
  5. Maybe I will do a unscientific poll in Oct by bringing in dessert to the theatre and counting the dirty looks! Ill let everybody know how it goes.
  6. I'm sure the crying kids would bother the professionals, more than someone eating a delicious dessert.
  7. I think that a dinner theatre would be a great idea!
  8. Looks like it would be worth the $19, since the have an 8oz filet. That seems like a good deal.
  9. I agree! That's why I keep mine covered up, for the sake of others! :)
  10. I haven't seen a Chops lunch menu.
  11. I wouldn't dress in less than Dockers and a polo at the the very least regardless of a dress code. That's just me.
  12. Can those requests, be made through the cruise planner, when reservations are made?
  13. I know all the controversy over what everybody is wearing to eat dinner, especially in the MDR. What about how everybody is dressed in general while on board? On our cruise in Oct, is it ok, given the cool nature of the year, to wear jeans and a sweatshirt on board? Am I going to get the "stink eye?" Not that I care, I'd just like to be ready for it. Or is it generally, dress as you want? I know there isn't a general dress code, just wondering.
  14. I would imagine it's going to be a modified dinner menu. Might be a nice way of experiencing Chops for about half the price of dinner.
  15. I'm not always anti-social, just when I want to be. :)
  16. That's a great reason, saving on airfare for a cabin upgrade. Now if only RC would home port in Chicago, I could save on airfare, and cruise more often! :D
  17. Anybody ever not been able to get a table just for two in the MDR or specialty restaurants when requested? My wife and I will be on our 27th wedding anniversary cruise this Oct, and to be honest, there are just some nights I don't want to dine with anybody else but her.
  18. Being first time cruisers we chose MTD because we didn't want to be tied down to a certain time to eat each night. I think it's no different, at least in our case, of eating meals at set times during any vacation. We just ate when we felt like it. We do have reservations for specialty dining, which of course are set times, but have opted to not choose dinner times in the MDR, this time.
  19. As a first time cruiser this Oct, I know that I didn't choose a ship. I chose a destination and time of year and the ship came along with that choice. I think there are probably a lot of other first timers that fall into that category. Maybe a secondary question should be, why did you choose a specific ship or category on your cruises that followed? Have you chosen specific ships when cruising with your family and another one if it was just a couples cruise, and why?
  20. Ok, you're right. So how about just telling us what you feel is the best ship based on what ever criteria you want. What's the best for first timers with kids? Best for first timers as an older couple wanting a quieter cruise? First timers who want an all cruise party? Tell us based on what ever experience you've had. Let's just open up the question and see what happens.
  21. What about clam diggers, they're kinda in between? ;)
  22. What is the best ship for first timers and why? If not a specific ship, then what about a certain class for first timers?
  23. I didn't know Café Latte-tudes had sandwiches. All I ever seen for them shows pastries and such.
  24. I really don't mind waiting. Where else do I have to go? :) Just curious.
