  1. I have similar experience.  We loved Oasis and looking for a way to get back on an Oasis-class ship!

Matt I know you live in the New York area so this might be hard for you but last August I saw the prices for Oasis and Allure dramatically drop for September so I quickly booked a cruise on Allure. The rates were really good. I got a balcony room for 699 per person plus taxes and fees but I am also a diamond member so I got to use my balcony discount for $200.00 off. My point is in Late July/early August you should see if the pricing for Allure in September will be cheap again because I have a feeling you can get a really great deal again around that time and flights might not be too bad if you book 30-40 days in advance.

  2. I think Bill you did a great job reviewing this cruise. I have been on Allure twice and Oasis once and I love them both. I happen to agree with Tylor more where my style of cruising is the boat is just as important to me as the ports it goes to. I like having alot of entertainment, activities, and food options when i cruise and I enjoy days at sea because I really like to explore the boats and see all the "WOW" stuff they have to offer, But that is why Royal makes so many different kinds of boats and I think you will probably enjoy the Jewel out of Puerto Rico. I heard it is port intensive. Again thanks for the great review. Even though I have been on the ship I love hearing about other people's experience!

  3. When I found out that Royal would be moving Quantum to China I was not happy. I feel lucky that I am going in March and will get to experience Quantum. Going to China is not something that is very feasable for me mostly cost wise and I am pretty surprised they decided on this move.. Anyway I am curious what do all the fellow members think of this news?? Post and let me know. - Stephanie

  4. More happy news! The prices dropped for this sailing. I called up Royal Caribbean and got them to adjust the pricing for our booking to the new, lower price!

That is great news! Personally, when I book a cruise i still go on every day to see if the price goes down because I find that if it does and I call Royal they usually adjust the price for me. Also I like to see if a better category cabin opens up for a good price and I think everyone should do this!

  5. Whenever " Oasis 3" comes out I would like if they would have either Oasis or Allure do 10-12 night southern caribbean cruises that leave from either Ft. Laurderdale or Miami. I am a lucky one who lives in Ft. Lauderdale and so I get to save on airfare and i would love to take one of those ships on a long cruise to new ports in the southern caribbean that I have never been to but on really great ships. Obviously Oasis and Allure provide enough entertainment and activities to keep people busy for that length of time I am just not sure if those size boats would fit in the southern caribbean but I hope they would it would be cool!

  6. Sounds wonderful Stephanie! How exciting to try a brand new ship. I wonder if you'll get cool inaugural sailing swag? I'm glad Quantum is sailing longer itineraries. A week long cruise just isn't long enough anymore!

I hope there is cool stuff thatyou can get. I remember when I sailed on Allure for the Inagural year and there were special T-shirts and key chains you could buy saying it was the inagural year but maybe for Quantum they will have more cool stuff. I am just so excited for this boat. I love all royal caribbean ships but I am a sucker for a new boat with all new features!

  7. I would not choose The Grande because of the formal dress requirement for the first night. Like Matt said, I personally would start with the American Icon Grill for day 1. Because I'm more traditional when it comes to cruise ship dining, I would choose The Grande for day 2, since it fits the mold of day 2 formal night. Silk day 3, Chic day 4, and then repeat? How long is your cruise Stephanie?

Also welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog!  :)

Thanks Tylor, I actually did end up picking American Icon Grill first. It just looks so good. My cruise is an 8-night cruise 1 week before the blog cruise. I am upset because I wanted to switch to the blog cruise but I wanted to have a junior suite and they are all sold out then. Oh Well I am still so excited for Quantum! I want them to release more info already!

  8. Hello Everyone, My name is Stephanie and I Love Royal Caribbean so I am excited to now be a member of this site and start commenting!. On Thursday I was called by Royal Caribbean and I was pre selected to take part in choosing what restaurants, days and times I want to do them before the general public. I was very excited about this because to me Dynamic Dining looks great but I wanted to get people's opinion who are going on Quantum for the first night of your cruise which restaurant would you pick first? They all look so good to me and when Matt was at the event on March 26th all the food he was eating looked delicious. Just curious on other people's opinons...
