  1. So, last night as Tyna and I are sitting around a bonfire up on the mountain, we're talking about how badly we want to get back to Bermuda .....soooo....

WE BOOKED IT AGAIN!!! -- While we were throwing logs on the fire - Hey, cell service works there too.

We're going back on Grandeur for their 5-night sailing to Bermuda next September.  Same itinerary, same cabin, same everything .... only $300 cheaper (go figure) ---- Oh, and to top it all off, we've been in touch with another couple that we met on board and it would appear they want to do the same thing....

Plus, we still have the Rhapsody cruise the following April....

So, as I see it, ZERO cruises for 7 years, then 3 cruises in 2 1/2 years.....I don't consider that to be a bad thing at all.

You folks are a bad influence, scratch that, a GOOD influence on us.

The questions I have for everyone is ....

Who has repeated a cruise, same itinerary, ship, etc. just because the first time was just that much fun, and why? -- And --- who have met folks on a cruise, only to keep in touch with them well after the cruise ended, and possibly cruise together again?

Also, who has traditions that they must adhere to as they board the ship or when they get on the ship?  For example, I will always wear my sovereign of the Seas T-Shirt as I board......

I do it all the time. I Love Cruising!!!!!

  2. Ultimately all of the deals they throw our are just marketing spiels, have checked every deal that came out on every cruise I have booked over the last few years. Last time a deal did anything for me was the very first week of the never ending BOGO sales when RCI misunderstood the plan and actually just applied the logic directly to the price that existed the day before without bumping up the prices first over night.

I know there are people that do save a little bit from time to time as the sales mutate slightly but in general if you book within the first month of them rolling forward their schedule I will pretty much guarantee that you wont see a sale between then and your sailing 2 years later that saves you money.

Its just a never ending stream of "sales" to try and attract new cruisers to the table and it seems to work really well.

You are correct. I booked two years in advance. My prices are always lower then any sales. I also, get the cabin I want in the location I want. Planning saves money most of the time. I have 9 cruises booked with RCCL and 1 with Celebrity.

  3. Talking with the staff and crew is like reading a book and/or watching a movie. I love talking with them. They can give you tips on ports, ships and life. I have had the best discussions about books with the staff. I am an educator and sometimes we talk about their children. So I believe in tipping. They go out of their way to make sure you have the time of your life,

  4. I am wondering if RCCL will offer a 14 day cruise out of San Franscico to Alaska. I did it on another cruise line. It was awesome. Also, a world cruise would be nice. A coastal cruise that starts in Boston and ends in New Orleans would be amazing. I love longer cruises. It's the only way to get to know the ship.
