20-year old jumps overboard on Liberty
Fastfaller replied to kadmgs's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Sounds like suicide.... A good friend of mine in college did this same exact thing on the Carnival Destiny back in 99 or 2000. The cruise was a graduation gift from his parents. He got trashed and broke down to his friend on board said he couldn't go on any longer... Walked to the back of the ship and jumped. He was never found. -
Currently on Icon and someone purchased the Royal Bling Cup

I mean... If you can afford the cup, you can afford paying for drinks -

Ok, I looked it up. So someone has a lot of disposable income. To me the big deal isn't that someone is rich/stupid enough to buy it. The big deal is that he is leaving a $100k cup sitting on a table at a beach. -

Royal Caribbean Bank of America Card
Fastfaller replied to Sal Brocato's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I called this afternoon, talked with a rep then sat on hold for about 10 mins. When she came back she said your all set, check your account. I logged into the website and sure enough my $600 was sitting there in my planner. I feel a lot better now -

Almost 3 weeks still no OBC showing up, I guess it's time to call again and force the issue. -
11:30 seems to be the earliest time slot now
Fastfaller replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Agreed, if I can be on ship by 1100, grab a specialty coffee and a quick bite to eat then I am in heaven. Then you have all the time in the world to explore the ship, get the lay of the land. Then it's time to find a refreshing cocktail and start the relaxation. -
App is working for me, but the website not so much.

Mine is out of FLL, I think NJ starts the week after. We'll have to see what happens -

Fastfaller replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Ugh... I am on symphony in 2 weeks and have an 1130 board (the earliest available). I check out of my hotel at 10, so plan to be at the cruise port around 1030. Sitting in the terminal with a 15, 13 and 11 yr old telling me they are board doesn't sound fun. But it is what it is, hopefully it will just build the excitement to get on the ship. -
COVID On board Future Cruise Credit
Fastfaller replied to Juliana1710's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Maybe I am just an outlier here, but I would never take a COVID test on a cruise ship. If I didn't feel well I'd stay in my room and when I felt better I would go back out. Last thing I would want is to be quarantined on a cruise ship. Are people actually still afraid of COVID?- 9 replies

If it is by ship, symphony is only giving 1130 at this time -

I hope they are fluff because I got 1130 on. Symphony in 2 weeks, it was the earliest time. But my hotel checkout is 1000. So I will be in line at 1030. -

The Incredible Crew Neighbohood On Icon Of The Seas
Fastfaller replied to CHRIS WONG's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
@Matt just did a story on your video -
If you think it is negligence that you fell and hit you head then you can sue for that. But I don't hear you claiming negligence, it sounds more like you got hurt and therefore didnt enjoy your cruise so someone should reimburse you for your lack of fun. That's not how it works. If I slipped and fell on the pool deck and broke my arm, it would be an accident, pool decks are slippery, but RC wouldn't owe me because of an accident. Now if you could prove Gross negligence because the furniture was defective and it should have been known to the cruise line that's a different story . Now that being said let's ask another important question. You were at a bar on a moving ship, was there alcohol involved? Could your fall have been avoided if there was no alcohol? Again not accusations, just questions.

Yes just heard reports they are going to Norfolk and bussing passengers back to Baltimore.

Someone further up suggested CBD oil ... I thought bringing that on board was a no-no

I have always dressed nice for the MDR, but this next cruise I think I am going to be more relaxed about it, everyone else is. I probably still won't wear shorts but I am not going to feel obligated to wear a dress shirt. Maybe a polo, maybe a Hawaiian shirt... Whichever I am comfortable in.

Yup, get ready for Gas and LNG prices to shoot up with that port closed. As far as cargo goes, I am sure NY and Virginia will pick up the slack. There will be some delays but things will start moving again. The bigger issue as you have stated is what is trapped in port . It will have to be off-loaded and trucked to a different port.

Debating on beverage package vs buying individual drinks
Fastfaller replied to Peachjan's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It really just comes down to cost of the package vs how much you drink. Take into consideration specialty coffees, shakes at johnny rockets, smoothies at the spa. All those things are free with the alcohol package. I just bought the package for myself when it was 35% off. Comes out to about 4.5 alcohol drinks per day. But I will easily have 2 specialty coffees every day, maybe 3 or 4 plus at least 3 cocktails a day. So for me it makes sense paying ahead and not getting a huge surprise bill at the end. Plus I like not to have the worry that I shouldn't have a drink because it costs too much. But everyone is different, there is no right or wrong answer to your question.
