I just booked a cruise Friday 11/25/22 and it is still not showing when I log in so I am wondering what sales in the planner I am missing out on!

There’s usually an option if you’re not seeing your cruise to manually enter it

  2.   There was a portable devise /router at one time for doing this but it has been several years ago. Was advertised as being able to have one Wi-Fi connection to the hotel Wi-Fi and use multiple connections on the one account.    I think your main connection had to be with a laptop though and not a phone    is probably would not work in a cruise ship scenario though, since you are moving around and not just in one room

I don't think there has been an ultimate (possibly called that on other lines) drink package, it says deluxe and has since I started with Royal in 2018.

I maybe called it the wrong thing I’m just not seeing any offer for an alcohol drink package with Internet.  There is one for sodas.   I went ahead and picked up the Key which includes Internet for $20.99/day. The DBP is currently $77.99 / per guest per day

  4.   Looking at a short cruise in December that my other half is iffy on being able to go. Right now if I book single and try to book a suite it’s $2500 but if I book double it’s like $2200 but there’s also the suite guarantee option of $1524 that’s not even popping up on the single mock booking.  If I book the double guarantee and show up at the port to board without my wife what obstacles will I run into if any.  I know I’ve showed up at the port and boarded alone in the past and my wife came later without issue but that’s been many years ago and on CCL.   Thanks.

I did not book with Expedia or use Rakuten for a rebate but I did book with Costco.  We will receive a $140 gift card when we return and while we are on the cruise (Liberty of the Seas in March) we will have one free signature dinner at either Chops Grille or Giovanni's and either lunch or dinner at Johnny Rockets.  I'm hoping for the same good results that you had.

We have booked most of our cruises in the past several years through Costco and been happy with perks and returning home to a nice gift card.

  6. Just off the navigator 11/1/19 and 16oz beers were $7.99 each plus gratuities. Glad I bought the package at the price I paid that was only 6 beers/day. I more then broke even with a few coffee drinks in the morning, a bottle of water here in there and occasional cocktail.  We were also pretty disappointed they done away with a lot of the specialty martinis like the cucumber and lychee to name a few.
last RCI cruise on Brilliance I did not have the package but I remember the beers only being about $8.05 a piece with gratuity last January.

It's not on your list but T-Mobile has been a game changer for me as I cruise.  I really appreciate having coverage everywhere I travel.  From Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas and the Caribbean I've been covered.  Even going back to 2017 at CocoCay long before Perfect Day I had coverage.  Labadee, no problem.

Canada and Mexico are like home so LTE speeds and unlimited calling just like at home.  That works out well for Alaska and Canada/NE cruises.  When in Cozumel or Costa Maya, no problem.

Roaming in other countries is at slower speeds and voice is billed at $0.20 per minute.  I don't do a lot of phone calls but it sure has been nice in places like Bonaire when we needed a cab and none were around.  I googled "Bonaire Taxi" and found a number, 15 minutes later our cab pulled up in the middle of nowhere.  Well worth the 20 cents for that call.

I always take a picture of the cruise compass listing the local contact information for the port agent and ship and it's very comforting knowing if something happens I can call the ship.

If I want to unlock higher speeds for a day they have a $5 pass that includes full local speeds and unlimited calling.  I've used that once in while but generally do fine with the slow speed that is included for free.

I’ve heard good things about T-Mobile as well from travelers however their coverage is terrible in my home area.  At least when I tried them on my iPad Pro for a while a year ago.

  8. What's everyones experience while in the different Caribbean and Bahamas ports?   I am on Sprint network but thinking of a change however one thing holding me back is how well Sprint seems to work everywhere we cruise and I never have any roaming or extra charges.  The speeds are usually 3G at best but good enough for email a check=in so on.

Ive been with friends on Verizon who couldn't even get service while we were at some of the islands much less even pay extra though that was several years ago.

I would concider Verizon or Xfinity mobile if I did switch.

I just went through this exercise for my upcoming Mariner cruise. Originally I bought a 2-device plan for me and my wife, but my wife reminded me as Diamond Plus we each get 2 days free, which makes the Voom package pre-purchase not worth it.

You mentioned being Diamond, so you get one free day. I think if you combine the strategy that @AshleyDillo outlined, you will do better to wait to book onboard.

So thinking just do the deluxe package pre cruise $368.16 and deal with Voom once onboard with diamond perks and strategy.

  10. I've done a few all-inclusive so. We're always ready to go after three days as the resorts get old as does the food. I've yet to experience this on a cruise, so AIs aren't an option for my family. Also, when I've priced AIs, they've usually been more expensive.

I'm glad your friends have found an alternative that they're happy with, though.

They were talking about prices as well and said that if you go to one of the main stream resorts like Couples or Beaches they are much higher, but to look at some of the others out there and they are usually nicer and less money.  I think they stayed at a Riu Palace or something similar.

  11.   I have friends who've been long time RCI cruisers, and they've stopped cruising and started going to an AI resort in Jamaica. They say the bang for the dollar is just not there anymore like it used to be on a cruise.   I saw pictures of their room and it was about 5X bigger then a a RCI GS..  They had all the top shelf booze great food and one of the only draw backs was the beer he said they only had red Stripe.

I live in FL so the big plus for us is no flying and I usually try to justify my bar bill by saying that would have been my airfare had I flown.  Even with that I am starting to question the value of cruising anymore. with all the add-on and up-charges now a days.
