  1. Gotcha. I was thinking it was something my wife and kid could use vs the bar soap since they couldn’t really reach the pumps in the last cabin easily.
  2. Hmm… I think I’ll ask the genie for a hook up on my next sailing.
  3. Do you mean the elevators won’t be a defacto teen club anymore? Never could figure out the draw of riding the elevator up and down but it must be the coolest thing to do as a teen in todays world.
  4. I just reach in the shower and get the rum body soap instead of that useless bar soap when washing at the sink. lol
  5. It’s also good for WiFi calling so you can communicate with your phones while on board. Just remember to turn on airplane mode first.
  6. It was not on purpose, but on day 1, I was chatting with the manager? of Giovanni’s and mentioned that I was disappointed that chicken Alfredo has disappeared from all the menus He just laughed and said that if I wanted it when we came to just let the genie know so they would have time to prepare it for me. It was wonderful. LOL Can’t say the same for my wife’s eggplant Parmesan. It was just gross. Bad enough we may not go back. My daughter ordered steak, shrimp, and scallops at Izumi. Not that big a deal but it was nice to be able to do so.
  7. Just wanted to resurrect this thread to give a heartfelt thanks to all of you for your advice. Nityam was simply amazing and set the standard for which our future genies will be judged. I want to hope he enjoyed us as well. Considering he wasn’t calling security on us, we were an improvement over the previous passengers at a minimum. lol
  8. This came up during our cruise in a conversation with our Genie. He said to request any genie changes or non-changes (we’re changing cabins on a b2b) around the time the survey or first email contact is received and they will do their best to make it happen. He said the more notice they have the more they can accomplish and that goes for any request. ETA-Our TA was friends with our Genie’s friend on board and found out that he liked a certain type of candy so we brought a gift bag of them with us and surprised him with it. You might look at older live blogs on here for comments about your genie.
  9. Just off Allure. No cooler bags on display. However, I did get a roller duffle bag brought up from storage to purchase so I would at least ask.
  10. I’ve yet to have a cabin where I couldn’t move the nightstand forward and find an outlet behind it. I guess they do exist but so far my luck has held.
  11. They were having issues getting passengers to book seats so they were allowing the crew to become the paying guests for a discounted rate. We had a 7:45 seating at 150 Central Park and there were as many tables of crew as there was passengers. We really didn’t notice a crowd in any specialty restaurant the entire sailing*. *We booked Izumi on night 1 and both tables were all Star class so I’m not sure just how busy it really was.
  12. Just wanting to add this because I found the situation to be strange. Every night on this sailing, we have seen them allow crew members to eat at the specialty restaurants during the (what I consider) prime times from 6 to 9. It’s a full boat but our genie said they’re having real issues booking seats in them. It’s good for the crew at least.
  13. We just received 10% off our next cruise certificates (with apologies for your inconvenience aboard this voyage). Are these usable on a already booked sailing or is it only good if we book a note reservation?
  14. Update: They refunded 40% of each person’s cost. I’m just hoping that no one gets the idea to conduct the sushi class like that again.
  15. Spoke with my genie this evening. It seems I’m not alone in my complaints with the class. They are awaiting word on the proposed resolution. I feel strange as I’m not asking for a refund or anything of the sort. I don’t want people to experience something that I loved doing and really pumped up my kid in anticipation only to see it done half-a$$ed.
  16. That’s crossed my mind as well but they could have done something different as it was just one single massive class. Split the class up to different times or just say it’s sold out? It was sold out on the cruise planner back in November.
  17. I’m willing to concede that it may be an Oasis v Freedom thing but it was really disappointing.
  18. Background- my wife and I attended the sushi making class on Independence back in 2019. It was 12 of us in Izumi with the chef. Pretty intimate experience and we learned a lot. Today- currently in Allure, my daughter wanted to do the class so we booked it way in advance to ensure a seat for the 3 of us. Mainly because we expected the same type environment as before. Well, we were way way way wrong in our thinking. Intimate environment changed to 80+ people in another area of the ship sitting at two loooong tables. We ended up at the far end of the table from the chef which led to a de facto game of telephone being played during the course on what we were doing. I ended up “teaching” the people around me just so they could stay caught up as the class was very rushed feeling. I did notice most didn’t stay to eat once we were done. Maybe I’m wrong with my criticism of this but it just feels like a massive money grab by RC to conduct the class in this method. Plus the reduction in food quality showed as well.
  19. I think I must have lucked out on my Utopia bookings but I do agree that Wonder has some decent pricing in late 25/26. I grabbed the RLS on a 4 day for 3 adults for about half what I paid for the room on Utopia. Granted it’s PDCC “again” but we wanted to sail on her and couldn’t ever make the dates work between my wife’s vacation schedule and the kids school breaks.
  20. Just wanted to add that there may be times when genie “goes back into the bottle” as well. I’m not sure just how hard it is to get them to pop out during those times but I asked mine and his hours as stated are 9am-1pm and 5-10pm. I’m sure if we asked for something during the mid day period, he could make it happen but I’m also going to attempt to respect his given hours and make our requests during the available time so that he can arrange delivery etc if it’s happening during that peak time gap. activity wise- I looked on here at recent cruise compasses to get an idea of what, when, and where things were happening. Let the boys look it over. They might find some things they would like to do and that will take care of any boredom related issues. If there’s nothing on here, then ask the genie for copies. I’m sure they can get that for you.
  21. See you can get exercise on a cruise.
  22. We tend to do the shorties due to school holidays and my wife’s vacation schedule. With the exception of an 8 day in 2026, we’re booked on all 4&5 nights trips. It also helps with being able to stomach the jump to Star class. The latest addition is a 4 night on WTS in the RLS booked today for a bit over 8k during fall break next year. It’s the last one I needed to book to get to diamond as well. That being said, I’m looking forward to getting to do more 7+ days and eventually some transatlantic sailings as well but not while we’ve got a kid in school.
  23. I think it’s me. Every time I refresh the page the total number of sailings goes down
  24. Just want to add (sorry if it’s been mentioned before) that you can add your passes to your Apple wallet also. Not sure about Android users but I figure you should have similar options.
