Apparently their new ice cream parlor that replaces B&J is now called...Ice Cream Parlor (amazed at the creativity there!). The C&A benefits PDF has been updated as well as the name on the app.

It's also one of the truly "free" perks from C&A. Most perks from the program are discounts, which are nice - but you still need to pay for stuff to get the benefit. I'm not Diamond, but I would never ever make the drinks package work for me because I don't drink that much alcohol. I don't drink that much and not much into juices/shakes/etc. But 4 drinks a day...oh my - a couple of cocktails, a specialty coffee, and a whatever else is perfect. Anything else I can pay as I go.

I was once in the one in Allure, which is on the boardwalk. It was empty and sad. I don't know if it gets much action during summer when more kids are on, but it's easy to imagine it's not really profitable. BTW - there is ice cream as a dessert option in the MDR every single day. It's super basic, but between that and the one in the pool deck, it makes paying for ice cream (albeit, much more elaborate) a bit "too much".

You mean that one isolated incident? The email says that they will contact your Travel Agent. My suggestion would be to wait for them to contact you, see what stateroom they assign you, and if it's not one you are cool with, ask them to find you another one. You can change rooms without a fee. Also, given the incident where they overbooked, you can try to negotiate a higher OBC for the troubles. Who knows, you might get a bit more.

So they are doing their own thing now. I guess it's still going to cost extra still.

On January of this year, they had the NFL Conference championship games on the Aquatheater. Depending day/time, they might move it around, I think. It also depends if the feed is actually available. They usually announce if they will show the games somewhere public on the Daily Planner, so keep an eye for that. If not, you can always try your stateroom TV.

Yes. In the Cruise Planner, under "Order History" (or something similar), you are going to see your reservation, you can click on 'modify' and then 'remove guest'.

@Momof4crazytocruise - In my experience, yes: 2-people only cabins are cheaper than 2-adults-1-kid cabins. Kids still pay port fees and taxes, and the fare for the 2 paying adults is higher. However, 2A1K is still cheaper than a 3-adult (or 3-paying passenger) by a healthy margin. When moving up into balcony and even suites, the difference gets larger. If your are deciding whether to leave the kids at home or bring them to the cruise, then yes - leaving them at home is the cheaper option. But if you are asking if KSF actually saves you money vs no KSF, that's a different thing. I haven't checked with 2 kids, though. I know that sometimes it is cheaper to get two 2-passenger cabins with no KSF than a 4-passenger cabin with the promo.

@Ryan79 - in their defense, the terms sheet always change the "booking" window from month to month. The Royal agent probably didn't check that before sending it. Even if the blackout dates stay the same, the "applies for bookings from X to Y" wording changes every month.

I have booked 4 cruises in the past 2 years or so, and have always had KSF. Not only that, but my under-6 kid has eaten for free at Specialty Dining restaurants.

It seems it's mostly for the better. They kinda screw the Platinums, but at least they aren't "forcing" them to buy 2 photos to get the benefit. Would this perk also apply to minors that are sailing with their parents and having a status match?

@Jzx1103 - how much time daily do you spend in the casino, though? Is a free cruise worth it if you have to spend a bunch of vacation time sitting at a pretty boring slot machine?

It's not a 'restaurant', but the Municipal Market (Mercado Municipal) has some mind-blowing cochinita pibil, which is the most well-known dish in the entire peninsula. @Riley @HeWhoWaits - thanks! I think we are going to book the Salmon Bake in Juneau. As for the other recommendations, I'll try and see how they fit our schedule. I'm not sure how my 5yo will feel about eating Rudolph, but we might give it a shot. Also good to know about seasons, apparently King Crab will be off-season and super expensive, so good to keep that in mind.

I'm taking an Alaska cruise in early May that stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. And I'm looking at the ideal spots to eat during those stops. I'm interested in salmon and crab. The cruise planner has a couple of excursions that satisfy those, but I'm pretty sure there might be better alternatives. In Juneau, they list an excursion that goes to Gold Crek Salmon Bake; and there's one in Ketchikan that stops for crab at George Inlet Lodge for crabs (along with the lumberjack show that I really really want to do). I've done some cursory research but as usual, the reviews go from "THE BEST THING EVER" to "what a waste of time, money, and oxygen"... If anyone has any insight on better alternatives that aren't total tourist traps, I'd really appreciate it.

At least on Indy, in September, my waiter told me that any additional entree was an additional $10. Not that we needed it. We ate A LOT.

The $926 was per person, though. But if there are only a certain number of rooms at that price, then maybe they ran out of them.

@steverk - How do those fares work? I am looking right on the site. According to the flyer, a Voyager Outside View for 1/22 is $299. But it is listed at $926.
