  1. I would add that any restaurant noted with a ($) after it's name on the Compass/app/whatever is not complimentary, while everything without is is.
  2. As far as quality, I'm sure the luxury lines will beat Royal easily. However, they are way more expensive and not a comparison for RC. But within their direct competition (Carnival, MSC, etc), I agree that all food quality will be around the same.
  3. Out of curiosity, I checked the Member Benefits PDF. Currently, there are 3 D+ benefits that only apply towards 340+ points: 1. Cheers with an officer 2. Upgraded bathroom amenities 3. Single supplement fare discount If RC was to create another level, I would bet it would be at 340 since, unofficially, it already exists. Then maybe they can tweak benefits a bit to make it a little more attractive. For example: - Add a 7th free drink to Pinnacles and give this new tier 6. - Discount on DBP at 35% (halfway between D+ and P) - $15 off specialty dining on 5+ nights (P is at $25) - 3 free internet on 7N+ sailings; 2 on all others (D is at 2, P get free internet always) - Flex arrival
  4. At some point, if all the included options seem underwhelming, you gotta look at other cruise lines imo. I enjoy the complimentary food quite a bit, I even love a handful of dishes. The Dog House is good. Simple enough. I'd hate for it to have a bunch of toppings that just create a longer line. For chili dogs, you can build your own on the Windjammer.
  5. Step 1: Let passengers vote for a new route. Step 2: Let passengers vote for 'Captain of the Day' Step 3: Politics!
  6. I often cruise and don't get any extras and don't feel like a cheapskate. I'm sure that Icon - having a ton of stuff already included - would be an even better experience without any extras. Weird angle on the article tbh.
  7. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/09/08/the-crown-and-anchor-perks-you-should-use-every-royal-caribbean-cruise There is a $25 difference between D and D+. But if you are thinking about waiting to get + before booking a cruise, it may up being worse because fares usually go up.
  8. Well, no need to worry. Messi will be in a Super Bowl ad, just not a Royal Caribbean one. https://apnews.com/article/lionel-messi-super-bowl-b49a957e01b668f83725e6ede10eb56f
  9. When I was a teen/early 20s, I took a few cruises with my family - including cousins. If they get along fine, the 18yo will probably have as much fun if not more hanging out with his cousins without any specific activities with them. There's also Hyperlink as posted above - the activities look kinda fun, to be honest. And in general there are always a bunch of non age-specific things he could do, depending on what he likes.
  10. I think that - aside from the big players (Bud Light/PepsiCo/etc) - companies usually have one Super Bowl Ad. So if I was to bet, I'd say 1.
  11. Honestly, I think that people that log into the Cruise Planner are a minority. I think most people don't even know it exists and just buy their add-ons onboard. That minority is the type to log into cruise message boards, but I think most vacationers/cruisers just book their cruise and just...do nothing.
  12. I have an aunt that used to own a travel agency, so a few years back she booked a hotel reservation for me. She misspelled my last name. We share said last name.
  13. The "cookie in a cup". I can't remember the exact name. Also the hazelnut-chocolate cake (also served in a cup).
  14. @Ditchdoc - I just bought the one you linked. It looks pretty good, especially since I prefer having things well organized and, if possible, paper instead of having to maniacally flip through my phone and panicking about the battery dying.
  15. It's an - I want to say hour long, but might be wrong - presentation. They basically welcome you and give you a few details about the ship and the C&A members onboard. They also have the captain and other officers give a short welcome speech and, IIRC, there is a little music number at the end. But they hand out a couple of different cocktails when you walk in so yay free alcohol.
  16. Of course, it's the newest ship that technically still hasn't even sailed and has all sorts of new stuff. It's the first one in a new class and has been expected for over 2 years. Also apparently you chose a date during summer/holidays. Of course the prices are going to be insane.
  17. There is a one way on Quantum on April-May from Vancouver to Seattle. I know because I'm going.
  18. Apparently, no. I just checked the last 2 Cruise Compasses for Vision. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=288 The one from may lists Ben & Jerrys as an option for Snacks, but the one from December doesn't. Now, things could have changed from Dec to now, but that's as far I can go.
  19. When I first read the headline of the post, I thought that OP wanted Royal Caribbean to put out the red carpet and bring out the champagne for their guests.
  20. @TXcruzer - Ha I totally misread your post saying that it happened. I totally whiffed on the "northern lights south of the Equator". I understood your post as "these things happened and tiktokers are complaining about it because they are dumb". I mean it would make sense to give the Pins some love, and if I was on that cruise I wouldn't complain. But that whole (now I realize fake) situation was ridiculous. Edit: I have absolutely no clue what sort of suites each ship has, though. So shrug on that question lol.
  21. Lobster is offered on the second formal night on cruises of 6+ nights that go to the Caribbean. If your cruise doesn't satisfy all 3 bolded conditions, then lobster will not be offered in your cruise.
