  1. Don’t fly into FLL. That’s for sure. It’s basically a lake at this moment.
  2. As a local for 47 years I say 0% chance. As I type this, the rain is back in full force and the high tide could elevate the water 3’ above my sea wall like last night because we just haven’t had the time for the flood waters to subside. I would say anyone considering FLL should make a flight change right away to either MIA, WPB or even Orlando but do not try to gamble on FLL tomorrow.
  3. Chances = slim. A local posted this on social media. FLL is a lake.
  4. You shouldn’t have cancelled the crown loft suite as there is no “butler/genie” associated with that level. The loft suites are great!
  5. I have lived in SoFL my entire life and one thing that has always been consistent is the advice to NOT trust the weather forecast. Whatever the app or meteorologist says is likely the opposite of the actual conditions.
  6. We pack a small suitcase filled with drinks/snacks for the kids and it works out well over a 7 day voyage.
  7. Yes, they don’t ask to see any of it though. The “wellness check” is nothing more than a process formality and lasts about 30 seconds.
  8. Always Crown Loft! Not even a question regardless of location fleetwide.
  9. Confirmed, same clueless people answering the phone and steering you the opposite direction you should be heading.
  10. The Cozumel beach clubs are all next door to each other and a 15 minute cab ride from the port. The beaches are perfection and I can personally speak for the service being top notch level at Paradise beach club as well as Nachi Cocum. You can’t go wrong with either. Cozumel also has “the most spectacular diving and snorkeling in the world” according to Jacques Cousteau (I’m pretty sure this guy knew a good spot when he saw one).
  11. Never left the port swimming area but maybe we should check this out!
  12. Cozumel beach day for sure. Check out one of the beach clubs (Paradise, Nachi Cocum or Mr Sanchos).
  13. Haha, yes the tequila whistle lady! I have done the same thing but in my tequila and Tecate haze I also seem to remember the servers and the music going into a slow motion dance to a Michael Jackson tune which was both interesting and horrifying at the same time. It was the BIG Tecates too!
  14. I would consider it first being entertainment and second making money. It all boils down to luck and personally my lifetime tally I am ahead (at the moment) due to some large hand pays. I agree it’s pointless to beat the casino because that’s just not going to happen.
  15. This is really good information. Thank you. I never put this amount of thought and analysis into the machines I’m dumping money into.
  16. Ok, I am completely confused about a less volatile slot machine, can you please steer me to the type? I play almost every machine in the casino with a bankroll between 8x-10x of the one you are stating you win with and don’t hit the 2000 point threshold until many $1000’s are either won or lost. I suppose you “could” hit a hand pay after a couple hundred are cycled through and quadruple that bankroll and then dump it all back in to get that 2000+ points but there’s such low probability of that happening making this difficult to understand. Last week on Wonder I left the casino on Saturday night with 7500 points after a week cruise and i can verify that did not come cheap. A free balcony cruise would not be sufficient. I am clearly spending too much time playing the wrong machines. Please help.
  17. How do you get 2000 points with a $1000 bankroll? Certainly not on slots, right? I am not portraying the casino to be necessarily good or bad as I have won large sums of money and let go of a few bucks as well. I just want to know how you can get to 2000 points with that bankroll without getting extraordinarily lucky and cycling through 10x that amount of money? And as far as the comped cruises go, I don’t care for the inside or balcony free offers and only look for comped JS and higher sailings which are few and far between these days.
  18. You are going to go from presumably zero to prime in a day? That’s a whole lot of cash and/or cash mixed with beyond good luck. Note: It’s going to cost you ~$12,500 of play for some free drinks in the casino and a crappy discount on a balcony cabin. Take a moment and review this payout ratio from a single machine on Wonder (photo taken by me on Sunday 3/19) and hopefully this provides some good data for your Prime journey if you choose to play slots. Good luck.
  19. Some might say you are not doing it right! Maybe some more pool side Kraken Pina Coladas?
  20. That’s not the point though. The D+ perk is 3 water bottles per person. There were 12 water bottles on the table in our stateroom on Wonder this past Sunday.
  21. This is a great spot, we were at Blue Lagoon earlier this week on Wonder. My only complaint would be the price gouging at the bar. Seriously $11USD for a can of subpar Bahamian beer? On our way back to the ship when the ferry was docking at the pier the captain misjudged the wind and slammed into the concrete piling which shattered a large glass window pane and sprayed glass everywhere. Word of advise, BE VERY CAUTIOUS AND AWARE IF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY OPT TO SIT NEXT TO THE GLASS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE LARGER FERRY WITH THE TINTED GLASS PANES. A woman and her family sitting under the pane had some small cuts from the glass and fortunately did not get severely injured.
  22. The staff will move it for you. I have had to do this before when there are no chairs for my family but rows of chairs with the standard issue chair hog essentials on them. They watch for a bit and then clear the chairs for you. I have taken this into my own hands on a few occasions but only after watching the hogs at 6am while doing my AM walk and knowing the perpetrators. It’s a dog eat dog world.
  23. Every single day. The hogs are out at 6am and they disappear until 10-11am.
  24. Hogs out in full force this week on Wonder. The hogging methods are getting more evolved though with the chair hog kit which includes pastel colored towel clips, dollar store purses and off brand portable speakers ($6 at Walmart) in an effort to look official.
