  1. You don’t have to be invited. Royal Up has a page where you enter last name & reservation number and if available, options will be presented.
  2. Not too many people winning these days. Better luck next time.
  3. Agree. The JS is always a good option with GS being icing on the cake!
  4. Oasis is the oldest but stacks up with the best of them due to the AMP. We really enjoy this ship and will be sailing her 2024 for NYE on the S. Caribbean route!
  5. Yes, that’s a better description. Star will go from crazy to crazier.
  6. Oh, it matters. The only way to get even a hint of decency regarding price is to book out to 2025 at this point. In two days we are going to book Star for Thanksgiving 25 because that one is going to get a bit crazy regarding pricing if you hold off.
  7. Yes, the port berth in Miami certainly costs a pretty penny but I believe there is more to the story. The company normally does a couple short travel agent and executive cruises and then the general VIP visits exc before paying passengers go on the first official inaugural voyage 1/27. The Oasis Class ships were still being outfitted in Miami and Port Everglades when they first arrived so it’s possible Icon will have time built in to bring on US based contractors to complete some of the specialized action items that couldn’t be done in Europe.
  8. Excellent thank you for the great info!
  9. This might be an issue if you enjoy the ease of a Florida port and are loyal to RC. The trend seems to be to route everything through PDCC lately and I guess that makes good business sense for the company. This might be an instance where you alternate on the competition.
  10. It’s a whole different experience in a good way. The Oasis class ships are noticeably smoother and the Caribbean waters are also less turbulent than the Pacific waters. You will really enjoy Symphony.
  11. Symphony 12/30 sailing we have bids in on CLS, GS, OS and hoping for a long shot win for yet another holiday sailing. At some point our Royal up luck has to turn around because it’s been rough lately.
  12. I would say inaugural star class or not on Icon is going to be simply amazing! We are booked on Icon for the kids spring break in March as well as our epic annual family Thanksgiving cruise. I am anticipating your live blog and review so I know what to expect in March!
  13. Did you get a star class booking for the Icon inaugural? If so, that’s pretty awesome!
  14. The description “Gasoline taste” is alarming considering the fact that spiking alcohol with chemicals is known to be a thing in Mexico. Where was this? I normally ask for unopened cans of Tecate for that very reason.
  15. I mean really where else can the big girls go? I could do the same East/West routes 1000 times and never get tired of the open air bus rides through the St Thomas hills, the downtown in St Maarten or South Beach in PDCC. It’s the epitome of the cruising experience especially that return to the ship after a long sun soaked day on a shore excursion. Cruise life
  16. Where does RC dock in San Juan? I’ve only ever docked in the main harbor adjacent to the fort. We are sailing Symphony.
  17. It’s been 11-12 year (pre kids) the last time we were in Puerto Rico. Can anyone recommend a nice walk, shopping exc with younger kids in tow? I really wanted to try some Mofongo and a pina colada but also wanted some ideas not requiring a taxi. We are an active family so a longer walk is not a deal breaker. Thanks.
  18. Turkey is dry, stuffing has no taste, dessert is a cut rate version of pumpkin pie. Yes, it’s the general consensus of my family and I’m guessing most others. I personally refuse to eat the turkey dinner and opt for the “chops” selections on the MDR menu but even that option has soured. I promise I’m not a complainer and didn’t mention this to the staff or rate anything poorly on the survey.
  19. I’m with you on that one, Publix pumpkin pies are the standard in my house!
  20. Just be thankful you don’t have that absolutely horrific Thanksgiving dinner on the menu when you sail. The only think actually more disgusting then the Thanksgiving dinner was the dessert. They tried to get fancy with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake but IMHO it was an epic fail. What happened to real pumpkin pie with a giant blob of whip cream on top?
  21. Yes, I really like his quick witted interaction with the audience. This guy is a gem for Royal Caribbean.
  22. Oh I know, it’s a big mess of broken Champaign bottles and confetti. It gets really crazy! Good question re: venue on Odyssey. I don’t think the music hall is big enough but that would be my choice on that ship. You guys will have an amazing time.
  23. I hope so. We have been enjoying the extended trip before the Thanksgiving week sailing with the kids in Disney the past couple years. Good times
