  1. Maybe it is a glitch, then. Thanks again for the info. I'll give Royal a call.
  2. Thank you so much. When I clicked on the Solarium Bistro the "Reserve" option was grayed out. I guess I didn't wait long enough because it finally turned blue and I was able to reserve. Appreciate the help. I was able to book all the way up to 6pm on Day 2 for the Bistro, so maybe Chops is just booked that day and 5pm was the only time available more than two hours before the show.
  3. @Seatime1824 Hi Crystal!!! Absolutely I can give you the information! The brand is called Super Handy(https://superhandyus.com/collections/mobility-assistance). Here is the one we purchased https://superhandyus.com/products/superhandy-mobility-scooter-gut112-fba. I searched the internet and found it on sale through Amazon, so I would look around to find the best deal. The scooter folds up easily and is about 30lbs (a little more if you forget to take the batteries out). It has been narrow enough to get through the cabin doors when we can't get an accessible room, but it is tight, so you have to be a good driver...lol. However, folding it up and bringing the scooter in the room is just as easy. We've been on 4 cruises (Royal and NCL) with this scooter and it has been great. Hope this helps! Enjoy your cruise!!!
  4. I am sailing on the Symphony OTS in June and recently booked all our shows. We decided we wanted to book Chops Grille on Day 2, but when I went to book, I was only given the option to pick 5:00pm. All the other times had a red line and I couldn't book. I have Hairspray booked for 9:45pm that night. I understand having a buffer of a couple hours between dinner and a show, but 4 hours and 45 minutes seems a bit unreasonable. Is there any trick to getting a slightly later dining reservation that night? I don't really want to cancel the show and risk not getting the reservation back, just to get a 6pm reservation. Should I book the 5pm and see if I can change it to a later time when we get on the ship? Also, we would like to try the Solarium Bistro one evening, but I don't see where you can reserve that. Do you go when you first get on the ship like you do with the dining packages or do you have to reserve your time the day of? Thank you in advance.
  5. Was able to call RC and switch to the different itinerary. I was charged $100 per person for the switch but I'm okay with that. Although I did have to pay that $200 fee today. Question, though... I keep hearing about a refundable deposit but whenever I book through the website, I don't see that option anywhere in the process. Is that something that can only be done by calling RC directly or through an agent?
  6. My husband and I have booked a cruise in December on Odyssey OTS to Bahamas/Perfect Day. This will be our 4th cruise on this itinerary in the last 2 years. We saw that there is a longer itinerary on Odyssey OTS to islands we have never been to and would love to switch to that sailing. We have only put down a deposit for our current cruise on Odyssey so far. Would we be able to move that deposit to the other sailing or would we have to cancel and lose the money? I heard somewhere that Royal might just charge a fee to switch, but I can't find that in writing. I would be okay with paying a fee to switch sailings. Before I call Royal, I thought I would ask and see if anyone has been successful in moving to a different sailing.
  7. Thank you very much for the information. I appreciate it.
  8. My family and I are hoping to have the Izumi Hibachi on our upcoming cruise. I see they have lunch and dinner options. When I look at the lunch price, I see that it's $35.99 currently. When I look at the menu, it has 2 columns, a single (Classic) option and a duo (Premier) option at different prices. Is the $35.99 for the just Classic option? If someone choses the Premier option, will we be charged the difference listed on the menu? Just don't want any surprises on our account. We are not doing the package, which has a $15 surcharge, but instead be booking the Hibachi individually. Thanks in advance for the clarification
  9. My husband has an appointment he has to go to during our stop in Port Canaveral next week while we are on the Oasis OTS. Is there an area specifically for Uber/Lyft pick up and drop off at the terminal? Also is there a better address to use? I googled it and got "9050 Discovery Road" but when I look at Google Maps, it goes to a building across the street from the terminal. Just want to make sure I direct the Uber/Lyft driver to the correct place and we are in the right place when they arrive.
  10. I've purchased trip insurance the week before my cruise on a couple of cruises with no issues. I mainly purchase it for if something happens on the trip and never cared about cancellation because I never needed it for that. Hopefully the doctor will be nice and provide the documentation, since he was the one that said my husband would be out of the cage before October 15th multiple times and then today acted like we never asked such a question. Lesson learned to get it in writing I guess.
  11. A little over a month ago, my husband had to have an unexpected surgery to reconstruct his foot and is currently immobile because he has a large metal cage surrounding his foot and lower leg (with pins going into the leg for support). We had asked the surgeon on multiple occasions if the cage would be removed before our cruise on October 15th. Multiple times he said it would. We just saw the surgeon today and told us that the cage will be on for probably another 6 weeks. We are now 30 days from our sailing and I called RC to see if we could switch our sailing to December on another ship (same itinerary. I was told that RC may give me the exception if I can get a note from the doctor stating that my husband should not go on the cruise. I have contacted the doctor's office and put in the request but haven't heard anything yet. I have heard that there is a fee and I'll be okay with paying it and paying any balance between what I paid for my current cruise and the one in December. Ironically I was planning on buying trip insurance this upcoming week, but I'm not sure if I can now because I don't know whether trip cancellation is covered with this circumstance now. My husband said if RC won't switch the cruise we will go on the trip but I'm not sure how much fun it will be for him. He won't be able to swim or walk and he'll have to haul around this heavy metal cage around on his foot/leg with a scooter. Has anyone experienced having to switch cruises this late? Is it the norm to have to get doctor's notes? If we get a doctor's note, does it run smoothly from there? I know we will lose out on our beach bed because I'm sure they are all sold out on the other cruise by now and possibly the same with the dining package we purchased for the October cruise. That stuff is not important to us, we just want to be able to both have a good time and I'm afraid in my husband's current predicament, he won't have the best time, and moving the cruise back would be a better option.
  12. I sailed Anthem out of Bayonne in December 2022. It was definitely cold on the first and last day of the cruise. But having the enclosed pool area, the enclosed Solarium, and the enclosed Sports Plex was really nice. We sailed on Liberty of the Seas to Canada and it was hard to be at the pools or the sports court, because it was so cold, so I appreciated those Quantum class features. I want to go out of Bayonne again next December and I'm excited that the Odyssey of the Seas will be sailing at that time.
  13. My husband uses a mobility scooter. We purchased one that folds up (Super Handy is the brand). We used it on a short cruise to Halifax, Canada on Liberty of the Seas. Pretty easy to navigate the ship. The only issue was the elevators, especially after the shows and debarkation day. We didn't do an excursion in Halifax because we'd been there before and done most of the excursions, so we just went along the pier all the way to the casino. Completely flat and scooter friendly. The only issue was the gangway back onto the ship. It was very steep and drained the battery temporarily for both my husband's scooter and my sister-in-law's scooter halfway up. Both had different brands of scooters. I was able to push my husband up the rest of the way and run back to grab my SIL before she rolled back and took out the passengers behind her. We definitely laugh about it now that no one was hurt. My husband and I are going on Oasis in October to the Bahamas, but you said you were well versed in cruising to that area with a scooter. We'd like to cruise to other areas as well but we'd figured we'd build up to that.
  14. When I was on Anthem of the Seas, the JR was a walk-up counter with some seating but you could take it to go. That being said, each item was priced individually. When I was on Liberty of the Seas, it was more of a traditional JR and I only saw people take milkshakes to go, everyone eating was seated. That menu was one price of $11.99 or $12.99 per person.
  15. This is fantastic!!! Amazing job! I am definitely following this topic to see more of your re-creations!
  16. We were just on Liberty in May and a lot of the muster stations were right on deck 4 when we stepped onto the ship. Ours was immediately to our right when we stepped off the gangway, so we checked in and then proceeded into the ship to tour and grab something to eat. You can check where your muster station is on the app (if you have the safety icon). I would just check in once you get on the ship (especially if your station is on deck 4) and then you don't have to remember to go back before sail away.
  17. I hope you have a great trip and I look forward to your thoughts on the Breezy Bay location.
  18. I am booked on the Oasis of the Seas in October. I have paid my deposit so far and was planning to pay the balance this week. The final payment is due in about 3 weeks. Unfortunately, an emergency medical issue has come up with my husband and I don't know if he will be fully recovered by October to go on the cruise. Can I switch my deposit to another sailing in Spring/Summer of 2024 or do I lose my deposit? We would have to pick a different ship since the Oasis will not be sailing out of NJ during that time, but that doesn't matter to us. We are new to RC and have plenty of ships to try out. We look forward to sailing on them all one day. Just hoping we can move the deposit to another sailing. I think pushing back the cruise will give my husband enough time to recover and go through physical therapy and we can enjoy the crui
  19. I think I'm going to keep the Breezy Bay bed for this trip. I'm hoping to go on two cruises in 2024 (both visit Coco Cay) so if my husband likes the beach bed, he'll want it again and I can book South Beach. I booked a Chill Island Beach bed on my last visit, so then I can say I tried them all.
  20. My husband and I are going on Oasis in October and I told him I don't want to see Cats. He's a big show person and wants to go. Due to his health issues, he fell asleep during every show we saw on Liberty of the Seas in May. So I'm sure he'll drag me there and then fall asleep and I'll be stuck watching the show. LOL!!! I'm hoping to go on Odyssey in Dec of 2024 and go back on Anthem in March of 2024 (my husband couldn't go in Dec of 22 when I sailed on her). We sail from NJ so it's nice to have the enclosed pool and solarium when sailing out of that port in the chillier months. But other than Cats...I'm super excited to be trying out an Oasis class and the OG ship!
  21. Oooo...that could be the combination I had. Definitely Baileys. The Amaretto is a nutty flavor for the pistachio. The Blue Curacao seems strange but mixed with the brown of the amaretto, I could easily see the "green" color it ended up as. Thank you! I'm going to have to give it a try and I don't have to hunt for that Pistachio liquor or creme di pistachio as it doesn't seem as readily available as the others.
  22. I didn't either. I've had a Hazelnut dessert liqueur before, so I'm assuming it's similar.
  23. I was just on Liberty of the Seas and I went to the R Bar. Two ladies were having a great looking drink. I asked what it was and they said it was a Pistachio Martini. I ordered one and I'm so glad I did. It was delicious! I'm not sure what was in it but it definitely had Irish creme in it because I could taste that. I'm assuming pistachio liqueur but I'm not sure about anything else. I wish I had asked.
  24. What a cool find!!! I love this stuff! Is RC planning another Oasis Class ship? I thought Utopia OTS was the last one in that class. I think Legend of the Seas would be a great name for the Icon Class. Icon of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, and Titan of the Seas would really tie the class together in my opinion. Not really a fan of Star of the Seas, but as much as I don't like it, it does go with the likes of Icon, Legend, and Titan according to Thesaurus.com. I also kind of like Paragon of the Seas which means "a person or thing viewed as a model of excellence." I think that would be perfect for the last ship in the Icon Class, being that the last ship is sometimes adjusted based on what works and doesn't work on the previous ships in the class. While I was looking up synonyms of Icon, etc... I came across some names that would be hilarious. G.O.A.T of the Seas Big Kahuna of the Seas LOL!!!!
