  1. We used it on Mariner in Jan with starlink, but that was when not all ships had it. Not an option for Oct 23 or Oct 24 cruises.
  2. There will be an announcement made when the rooms are ready. The key (your seapass cards) will be on the wall next to your door.
  3. Should be common sense at this point to NOT use debit cards for hotels, cruise ships, gas pumps, etc and especially if you don't have plenty of cash to handle the holds.
  4. In 2020, it dropped to around $20, then in 2022, dropped to around $35 IIRC. I got in around $35 (50 shares 2020 / 50 in 2022), sold at $109. I'm not one for risky purchases, so I'd have to see it down below $50 before I'd consider getting back in on a 100 share purchase.
  5. Bumping this thread as we are 3 weeks from the next trip. What are some cocktails, even ones on the menu, that you ask for with a top shelf liquor, and which one? Thanks
  6. And of course switching can only be done if there is another room available in that exact category.
  7. Agree. If the excursion is just a ride to Maho Beach, just grab a taxi. The Taxi process in St Maarten is very simple and they are not allowed to bull rush you at the port. There will be signs to direct you to where they are set up. Taxis for the return trip are constant. Oh, and the larger plans start landing late morning, early afternoon IIRC. To answer the original question, we have been there twice (2016 and 2018). Never asked for a passport or DL.
  8. No military in the world uses AR-15 rifles. They use automatic rifles.
  9. "Should the last names of the parent and minor child traveling with them differ, the parent is required to present the child's valid passport and visa (if required) and the child's birth certificate (original, a notarized copy or a certified copy). The name of the parent(s) and the child must be linked through legal documentation." https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-family-legal-documents-do-i-need-to-board
  10. I assume your name is on your kid's birth certificates? If so, the issue that you think may be a problem is that there is nothing linking your wife's maiden name to the kids' last name? I would think that's the case for most families. I think it is common for birth certificates to list maiden names for mothers to better track genealogy. ...OR... Your name (Jacob Smith) isn't on the birth certificate for your kids (John Smith and Jane Smith) and the only parent on the birth certificate is your wife and it shows Amy Jones? You're worried that they may not believe they are your kids?
  11. The marriage license is used to connect a wife's name between her birth certificate and driver's license because they would be different. If a name is on an ID is different than on the BC, there needs to be a document tying them together if using BC and Drivers License to board (without a passport).
  12. I would much rather pay $15 for a burger at a restaurant and tip the server $5 then be charged $20 for the burger. As others have said, it creates an incentive for good service. My wife is in the restaurant industry. If you approached the servers working for her and told them they'd be giving up their $2.13 per hour plus tips in exchange for a straight $15 an hour, none of them would take it. They do much better the way it is, especially since many of them just pocket the cash tips (avoiding the tax man).
  13. I've used https://snagaspace.com/airport-parking/ before. They contract with hotels near airports to sell parking.
  14. Got it for $62.99 on Liberty this October. Cheaper than the black Friday deal.
  15. Thanks everyone. Worked as you said. Saved $57. OBC reapplied immediately.
  16. I noticed that the DBP for an upcoming sailing is about $60 less than when I bought it last black Friday. I was wondering what happens with the refund if I cancel and repurchase when $100 of the cost was paid for with OBC. Do they refund the full amount? Reapply the OBC?
  17. I use https://tripinsurancestore.com/. Never use the insurance from the cruise line. It's more expensive, has lower coverage rates, and doesn't cover the whole trip (flights, hotels, etc).
  18. The drink package covers up to $15 if that's the price of a standard cocktail.
  19. My cost basis over 3 purchases was in the $38 range if I remember correctly. The jump following their earnings report to $109 was too much to resist, especially since it had been more than a year since the last purchase. I had planned all along to sell once it recovered.
  20. Note that on shorter cruises (5 nights or less) the OBC offer is $50, not $100. Just sold 100 shares at $109 last month. Made 180% profit in addition to the OBC perk on a few cruises. I won't be getting back in unless there is another significant drop. Buying in 2020 was an absolute no brainer (and again in summer 2022 when it dropped into the 30s again).
  21. From Michael Bayley (Facebook) Pizza ! Pizza ! Everywhere ! A couple of weeks ago we conducted one of frequent small group guest surveys. As usual we asked questions on this n that ! Including customer thoughts on $ charges for Pizza ! The question was posted with the result that many emails and comments were sent ! The survey said 80 per cent of guests were opposed, 20 per cent of guests said they would still go for Pizza with a charge, 25 per cent of guests surveyed said they would consider other cruise lines. To calm all our Pizza lovers don’t worry we are not charging for Pizza.
  22. Follow this guidance to the letter. It does NOT say that the requirements are void just because the minor has a passport. In fact there is a line on the sample letter for the passport number. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/faq/questions/what-if-i-am-traveling-with-a-minor-and-i-am-not-their-parent-or-legal-guardian?country=GBR
  23. Prices on food are extremely reasonable too. Wings are cheaper (and bigger) there than most local places we go to on land.
