When my spouse and I were in Sitka, we actually just ended up walking around the port area and really enjoyed it. You can climb up to the top of a hill (easy paved walking) that showcases all the surrounding area, walk around downtown, and we even did a little bit of an easy hike around the coastline through forest that gave us a great view of our ship. I specifically remember there being statues of various animals in the area along some of the paths and my spouse and I having a lot of fun with them.

I booked a spa experience via the cruise planner because I thought maybe it would be a better price. When I got on board, it was the same price, all I had done was reserve a certain day and time at that price. The prices offered for some "packages" (multiple spa offerings put together) on port days were actually a really great deal (not available pre-cruise). Hope that helps!

What to do in LA before cruise?
Cactus527 replied to Wheeler825's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Animal style is the only way to go. I'm so thankful there is an In and Out Burger just a few miles from my house. -
I used The Key on my most recent Navigator cruise. The great part about it is that you can show up early and get into Suite/Key check in line to avoid all the masses. Then, you get priority boarding when they open boarding at 10:30 a.m. You can drop off your carry-on and luggage in one of the dining rooms and they will take it straight to your room! The embarkation lunch in Chops was delicious, I liked the special areas they had reserved for Key guests at shows (especially the ice skating one), the reserved time for some activities on sea day was fabulous, but the best part was really disembarkation when I could choose whatever time I wanted to get off the ship and someone would escort me to the front of the line. I didn't partake of the disembarkation breakfast, but everybody recommends it. I think I paid $23/day for mine, and it was mainly because Voom was going for $18/day at the time, so it wasn't a huge jump in cost to get all the extras. I think you'd enjoy it if you do it, but don't feel like you'd be missing out on anything if you don't - I've done other cruises on Navigator without The Key and still enjoyed myself immensely.

I reserved this Premiere Package for a cruise later this year that is me solo. Imagine my surprise when checking my cruise planner just now and seeing $100 OBC!!!!! I was only wondering if the $50 had shown up yet! It's also showing up as $100 OBC for my summer cruise with the kiddos. Wahoo! -
I'm so glad to know that we are talking about a G-rated naughty room. I definitely wasn't thinking of anything else........

What to do in LA before cruise?

Other than In and Out Burger, here's what I'd recommend: USS Iowa (it's right by Navigator in the Port of Los Angeles) Long Beach pier Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach) Hollywood (specifically Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame area) any beach If you're a plane enthusiast, the Manhattan Beach pier area is really great because it's behind the runways at LAX. You get to see all the giant planes taking off overhead. Super cool to see. I don't know if you're flying from LAX or Long Beach, but the Santa Monica pier is awesome too; I just don't recommend doing it with luggage in tow! -

YES! So thankful I didn't do that. The free $50 OBC is going to definitely help. -
I stayed in 6435 (4V interior) on my last Navigator cruise. I heard nothing from below, which is the MDR. I inadvertently put myself right beside a housekeeping door/work area, which was much noisier! However, when walking around Deck 6 near the back of the Promenade, it wasn't excessively noisy 90% of the time. I never heard it from the aft hallway area near the elevators. I know you'll be more forward, but that's my experience.

I heard that on the tour, they'll give you a choice to dress as either an ice skater or diver to then participate in one of the show rehearsals. Lots of waivers to sign, but you get to wear tights either way. Then, afterwards, they'll give you a personalized tour of the medical wing while you are "taken care of." Remember to bring your HSA card! (this is a joke, just in case you're reading this and going "wow, I've always wanted to wear tights while ice skating!") -

That is exactly how I read it too. I learned about this very recently (within the last couple weeks) but won't get to try it until July. -

Navigator Tips and Suggestions
Cactus527 replied to GoldenTimeHero's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Navigator is my "home" ship, as it's the closest to me, and I love it so much. Glad you're going to experience it! RC Blog has a complete ship tour here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9f32sctvt0 Spots - * aft Deck 12, behind The Living Room area. Hardly anyone there ever, great aft views, quiet, lounge chairs, perfect for napping and reading. * Deck 7 by the aft elevators - there are comfy seats here so you can watch the promenade * Deck 5 either side outside - the views here on the deck are great if you're looking for more quiet at sailaway * Deck 14 Crown Lounge - GREAT views, and some nights there's karaoke! * Solarium - so peaceful, bar by the pool and loungers, even some lounge beds by the windows away from the pool. Shows - * The ice skating show is jaw dropping. The drones that begin the show are super cool! Highly recommended. * I found the Showgirls show good for the dancing but not so much for the singing (being in the field, I'm picky). Kid appropriate too. * Go to trivia. Such a fun time (though no prizes). I also enjoyed the Belly Flop competition on the pool deck. -
New cruise planner item, Premier Pass?

Correct - 2 packages would cover 4 internet accesses. Just FYI - if your kiddos have at least Gold status in C&A, they will get equivalent internet access to their parent(s). Look at "Youth Benefits" at the bottom here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf EDIT: The Premier Package states that it is for ages 21+ only. It wouldn't even give me an option of adding my kiddos. -

That's the main reason I switched over to it for my July sailing - Internet for $89 or $150? Easy decision. -
In the "Gifts & Gear" tab of the Cruise Planner, I just discovered this at the very bottom (under the cooler bags). Is this new to me or is it new to the Cruise Planner? "You'll feel like royalty when you wrap yourself in this full-length terry waffle robe with an ultra-soft velour collar and cuffs. Crisp white with elegant rope trim and embroidered logo in navy blue. Purchase today and your package will be delivered to your stateroom on Day One of your sailing."

I can't get it yet for my 2025 cruise, but I can't get anything for it yet so I'm not surprised. I wonder why not on Anthem? Odd. -

I just tried pricing it out on my upcoming 7-night and it's ridiculously good. $50 bottle of wine, $150 for internet, $180 for all-access tour, $20 photo, $35 laundry bag, and ~$50 for wine pairing (I'm estimating this based on the Sip/Tour/Brunch activity). No idea how much an officer lunch would cost. All of this is just for one person. That's ~$485 total, meaning you're saving almost $400 by doing this package instead of individually. Maybe $800 since it's for 2 people?!??!? -

RC blog has an article up about it now too. I just checked all my cruises - it appears available on Allure, Independence, and Navigator for $88.99 per package. Internet for my entire 7-night cruise AND extras for just $89? Sign me up!!!! -
I found this to talk about qualifications: https://www.alaskacruises.com/cruises/royal-caribbean-kids-programs.html#:~:text=You can feel confident leaving, with children ages 3-17. and this https://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/press-kit/2/youth-and-teen-program/ and this (look near the bottom for info) https://highseascruising.com/royal-caribbean-kids-clubs/ In terms of training and requirements, I'm not finding specifics online except for the last link above. I'll keep looking, but you could also call RC and ask. Maybe someone else on here knows?
