  1. I found this a really good question and seeking updated views on this, in particular, Drink package, speciality booked meals and coastal Kitchen. so there isn’t a bill? You can’t add a few $ to a bill, it has to be cash? Does many add anything to the included tipping already?
  2. There is 24 hours Room service, but imho more than enough food.
  3. Charging for passing wind in the elevator. $10 per half hour where an unattended towel is on a sunbed. fee for taking bedsheets or cushions home.
  4. Whilst Chops menu for the main course and dessert has good choices, the appetiser selection for a non fish- seafood eater is very limited. Basically carpaccio or salad. I have read bad things re the Berkshire bacon. Anyone had any luck in substituting any starter, a nice tomato soup would be great!
  5. This is what I have done. I am in a suite and will use Coastal kitchen and speciality restaurants. So I switched from traditional dinning to My time dinning. I didn’t want to hold a table in the MDR and serving team, and/or block anyone on any waitlist for MDR sittings.
  6. I myself think the thread title of “Royal makes every competitor a better cruise line” Is not supported by the linked article, one cruise line changes a few things, doesn’t mean everyone changing, and there are plenty of cruise lines with better menus and shows than Royal.
  7. Thanks everyone for those detailed answers, what I was looking for.
  8. So, undertook search nothing came up. So I will ask. I understand Concierge email suite customers circa a week in advance of a cruise. And further understand you can make dinner reservations requests. Question? - What else do you request? What types of things have you requested and it’s been honoured. Also - Do they still make show reservations or you just turn up? Thank you.
  9. Why can’t we take posts at face value and not do a personal “Columbo” forensic check on their posting history? Not sure it’s relevant myself.
  10. Thank you for posting your review and thoughts, I think there are a few sarcastic responses which are not helpful. I think, and will also probably get similar comments, that RCCL service does need improvement. We have been on other cruise lines and on others there is a tangible difference. Now RCCL can have better ships, better itineraries, and be cheaper than other lines, but it’s a vacation, a holiday and they do need to remember we are all “guests”. I would have sailed RCCL more but after a few less say less than acceptable customer service issues, I became nervous about spending money with RCCL. Now I am willing to give them a try, two more cruises booked, more for itineraries and value in price, but a little concerned about negative reviews that keep coming. Posters here should have an open mind and not just jump on anyone if they post a less than satisfactory review.
  11. Thank you, probably miss it now if it’s food available elsewhere.
  12. I had a “search” first, not a lot came up. Question. So re Chef’s table, I read the menus- Anthem of the seas- There are a couple of Fish and seafood courses. So if you have an intolerance for fish and seafood, do they substitute, should you inform them in advance? Ie go to reception at the restaurant and inform them for a specific menu? And finally with substituting was it worth it? Thank you.
  13. Well no, the package has a big discount, so it’s not on par price wise. The UDP is there to fill up the remaining available slots, so RCCL and their staff are kept busy, but you pay less than those booking individually. It’s a bit of a lottery, but as many say, they still get the slots they want.
  14. Thank you, excellent answer, and to my expectations. I may still tip extra at CK if deserved. But take it they get some % from my prepaid tips.
  15. Thank you, yes understand your perspective. So CK is additional tipping. As said, have prepaid tips, but trying to think about CK, say breakfast each day, where I felt it’s covered in prepaid tips and suite costs.
  16. I want to ask a question on this. ( Before doing so I will add I always pay tips and often prepay them and add more). So CK is for Suite cruisers who already have paid higher costs for their stateroom. Typically standard Tips cover not just Dinner service, but Breakfast and Lunch wherever you eat. I have prepaid tips for the cruise. So that covers the restaurants and staterooms. So if you use CK instead of the MDR or Windjammer, you have already prepaid standard tips. Question, isn’t this “double tipping”; don’t the staff in the CK get a share of prepaid tips? Or someone you may never see in the MDR get it, even though you never went there? I understand say with speciality restaurants the extra fee covers the tip as well? Now I understand that, but basically again you have tipped twice if you miss the MDR and have prepaid tips. This is a practical question, not avoiding tipping, and is there a solution, ie if on My time dinning and do not go, are prepaid tips transferred to who actually serves you in CK?
  17. Hello, I used “search” and nothing came up. So I have booked my car parking At Southampton for two upcoming cruises with RCCL and the Anthem. Question? What time can you arrive with your car for car parking please? Ie when does the car parking gate open? I am aware I have to book a PAT for the terminal, just trying to work out an arrival time at the gate for the parking . Thank you.
  18. It actually was meant as a light hearted comment, to go with this light hearted thread, but see photo. Cameras can rotate, and zoom in. and the guest there is Steven. ( Steven Seagull).
