  1. I'm curious about the 8 month old Pinnacle... I'm assuming people are getting confused with the child travelling with parents or grandparents that had the status (which means the child was not actually Pinnacle themselves). Mathematically, it wouldn't be possible. You have to be at least 6 months old to sail. Assuming the child started on a cruise the day they turned 6 months and sailed in a suite for 2 solid months (to get to 8 months old), and they had the double points promotion from booking during the Covid period - that still leaves them far short of the amount of points needed to get to 700. At most, they would have less than 250 points.
  2. Got off Anthem on Aug 28 - we didn't have any issues. Sailing went over 3,700 nautical miles. The one thing to always remember with any cruise is that the itinerary and ports of call can be subject to change (and they don't have to give advance notice). It's more a customer relations service that they try to forewarn passengers if they know of changes in advance.
  3. One other option is Benadryl (Diphenhydramine). It doesn't make me nearly as tired as Bonine/Less-Drowsy Dramamine (Meclizine Hydrochloride) or Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate). The main negative is that the effect only lasts for a couple of hours.
  4. There is a pillow menu - there was one in our room on Anthem just a few weeks ago (Star Class). It was a little note laying on the pillows (which I ended up shoving into the nightstand drawer and forgetting about). I don't remember the options, but I think it was 3 or 4 choices. I've never actually requested/asked for anything specific as I usually am okay with whatever pillows are already there in the room.
  5. Technically, yes. Although, it would likely be someone else who makes the delivery and not the actual genie. It could also take a while to be delivered depending on how quickly the genie sees/knows of your request, orders it, and then it gets delivered. Much quicker just to walk to the closest bar and order one as you can basically get any drink anywhere on the ship. The bartenders typically don't even run your card once they see your purple seapass and will just ask for the room number
  6. U.S. sailings are no, but here is the guidance if you are travelling out of Europe: Vaccination All guests 12 and older must show documentation of their full vaccination given at least 14 days before sailing (not counting your sail date). For the best European experience, we recommend guests be up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination. To be considered up-to-date: - guests must have received all doses in their vaccine series and their booster if the second vaccine dose was administered over 270 days (9 months) ago - their vaccine dose must be on the list of EMA approved vaccines
  7. I second the side/ocean view. The one negative is that the aft facing suites can be less peaceful, especially if you are on the basketball court side. I could hear the basketball bouncing around and the kids playing. Not a major deterrent, and less enjoyable if sitting out on the balcony. Plus, I enjoy looking out at the waves and water - part of the main reason I enjoy cruising.
  8. It very much depends on the genie. We had a relatively recent sailing where we were SC and our friends were in a suite. We never asked the genie to help our friends out. I think that since our reservations were linked together, when he made all the dinner and show reservations, he included them with us. I completely agree with others that this shouldn't become an expectation. I also look at it from the perspective of the genie... our friends also tipped him well for his help/services, so if the genie can make more money for a cruise, he is going to find a way. Whether RCCL cracks down on them for doing so, that is an open question.
  9. I had this happen once on my honeymoon cruise. We flew into Rome for a med cruise, and the airline never put my luggage on the plane. As pointed out by others, RCCL was very helpful in providing me with some t-shirts, basic toiletries, a free tux rental for formal night, and one free laundry service. It took about 4 days before my bag finally caught up to the port we were in, and then I had to pay to have my bag actually delivered to the port to get onto the ship. RCCL helped me through the entire process. Ever since then we do a few things 1) we now always fly in at least one night before sailing in case of any issues (especially on international cruises), 2) pack at least one change of clothes in carry on, and 3) my wife and I each pack at least one extra outfit in each other's suitcase (so, in theory, between what I wear on flight plus clothes in carry on and in spouse's bag, I at least have 3 changes of clothes).
  10. I will report back. We earn the points in August, but our first cruise as pinnacle is in November. We'll see what they list him as then. I'm not on the FB pages that you referenced. Per this line, "In some cases users have reported dependents being kicked back to the natural or actual earned level based on their their actual points while others have reported their 18 year olds were frozen at whatever level they were upon turning 18." Was some of that due to the large gap between D+ and pinnacle? It seems like forever ago since we hit D+.
  11. Interesting question. I have been a longtime lurker, but this finally prompted me to sign up to respond. We are almost a "younger pinnacle couple" as we will hit the status on our next cruise in August. We also have an 11 year old who has been sailing since he was 8 months old. Thus, we will be able to better answer some of these questions in the near future. As I understand it currently, our child gets our status until he turns 18. He goes to the lounges with us and he likes to take advantage of his free non-alcoholic drinks. Then, it reverts to whatever status he has accumulated from his own points at 18. Which, by that time, he will also hit pinnacle on his own.
