  1. Just go off Navigator and visited the DL multiple times a day... mostly for the coffee machine. Always nice to chat with other members/concierge for a bit. Over the summer on Odyssey when traveling with 12+ family members, it was a nice/air conditioned/quiet place to sit and visit with each other. Rarely do I go specifically for the food, but won't pass up a coconut cookie if they are offered.

  2. Our cruise ended in Civitavecchia. We took this shuttle into Rome. It was perfect. The cruiseline shuttle will take you to a bus station and from there you will get a shuttle to the train station or this shuttle directly into Rome. From the drop down menu choose Vaticano and it will drop you off within walking distance. No need to go to Termini if you are just doing the Vatican. Although we were staying in Rome, there were several people you were taking it for their day trip into Rome from another cruise line.

What ship?   Use the suite line at the terminal to board.  Double points.  Walk in closet on some ships.   Shower / bathtub some ships.  Oasis and Quantum Class JS get Coastal Kitchen if space available.

We will be on Navigator of the Seas out of Los Angeles. I don't think it has Coastal Kitchen.

Ahh I see. I appreciate your help in any way- didn’t mean to not come across that way before. (I just thought I wasn’t being clear). Time zones make everything confusing!! Thank you. It seems like later today it will open up!

No worries! Once I read your reply I realized, I wasn't as clear as I could have been 🙂 Also, I was in the same boat you were and excitedly trying to check in my family of 5 a day before and panicky that it wasn't working.

    Hi All,

My check in date is listed as May 25, departing from Rome on July 10. I have watched this board and research closely and was prepared to check in on May 24 at 4pm EST (we live in Boston) to secure the earliest boarding time possible. That was a hours ago at this point and my app has remained at the "check in unavailable" screen; my computer has as well. I also tried right at midnight to see if it made a difference and no change.  It's now near 4am EST on May 25- I noticed that it is also 46 days (not 45) from embarkation- do you think our check in date is posted incorrectly in the app? Should I just keep trying?

Lastly, we bought the key- do I even need to do any of this to secure an early boarding time? Thanks for everyones help. First time on RC for us.

I found that the check in date was for the Rome day/time. You should plan on May 25 at midnight Rome time. Hope that works for you

I just received an email for my Wonder of the seas cruise on June 2nd updating the protocols.

It looks like fully vaccinated passengers, as defined by the EU standards (full boosters or last shit within 270 days) can take the antigen test 2 days prior to the cruise vs 1 day. Those not fully vaccinated, still need to be within 1 day.

Those not fully vaccinated also have additional testing for shore excursions. I'm not sure what changed here because I haven't paid a whole lotvof attention because my family is fully vaccinated.

I also received an email for my June 26th sailing on Odyssey from Rome. I'm glad to see our testing changed to 2 days prior. That way we can test at home before flying. Still going to use our emed tests, but now I won't have to pack two tests for the five of us.

It could be either she hasn't sailed before, while you all have and thus, she has no Crown and Anchor status. Or if she isn't using the same type of documents.

Ok...this is her first sailing and the rest of us are Diamond. Thanks....I hadn't really thought that through. It just threw me off thinking I had done something wrong on her check in.

Really annoying that you have to test to get into Italy then test again 1 day before boarding. (For those flying in day before from US as it’s an overnight flight)

We’re leaving 2 days before cruise but arrive the next day. So will have to test twice. Hope things change by October.

Hoping they’ll go back to the 2 days before test.

I'm not seeing where we have to test to get into Italy. Can you help me find that?  I'm seeing vaccine w/booster if 2nd dose is old and filling out the Locator Form. We fly out of US on a Friday night and staying at the Hilton airport in Rome before boarding on a Sunday. I'm just taking the proctored kits with us to do in the hotel.
