The 11/1 cruise? Could be they are arriving later in the day as that lines up with their repositioning from Galveston (the last Liberty Galveston cruise gets back on the 30th, so that sounds about right (2 days) to get to Fort Lauderdale)

Wow, that almost seems like a glitch in the system. Can't see everybody trying at midnight. I just did ours last Sunday at 12:01 and get an 11 am check in. Wonder if maybe this sailing is partially chartered and they were given priority

I am not sure they offer gift certificates. You would need to speak with someone in the spa once on board as it is 'outsourced' and not run by Royal.

While this is a nice gesture, it really doesn't work in practice.  Your best bet is to make up your own certificate and present it to the person, then when they book the item you could arrange for it to be billed back to your room instead.  

You can go to the spa and arrange it with the reception staff. I did this once when sailing with SIL and her daughter asked me to it for her as a surprise. They gave me a card or a print-out of the booking, can't remember exactly what, and an envelope to put it in to give to SIL.
