I’m thinking about getting a beach bed while at Cococay. The thing I’m concerned about is will I still get a tan. Does the canopy block out all the sun?

This week a Detroit radio station was discussing how a band was not permitted into Canada due to some members on the bus having a DUI on their records. Other people, with alcohol offenses, started calling in with similar stories of being turned away at the border. Apparently, Canada has stricter laws than the US when it comes to any type of alcohol driving offense. I have planned a trip to Alaska that sails out of Seward, Alaska, and arrives in Vancouver, Canada, on Radiance of the Seas. My worry is I won’t be able to take the cruise because I have a DUI on my record from 1993. Has anyone come across this issue when sailing from US to Canada? Will I be allowed on the boat?

So, I’m still new to the sailing thing and don’t understand why Royal Caribbean sometimes charges different amounts depending on if you’re in the front, mid or rear of the ship. Is there a difference? Is one section of the ship less choppy while at sea?

Thanks to this community and thread I learned about the Royal Up and I just got notified a bid to a spacious balcony was accepted! I cruise next week June 2nd. This is awesome. Thank you Royal Caribbean blog!

Does anyone know if there is a formal night(s) on the 7 night northbound Alaska cruise? I believe I read there wasn’t but other posts say most 7 night cruises have formal night(s).

I did this in February when sailing on Independence of the Seas. For convenience, I just took Uber to my hotel because all of the MCO to Port Canaveral transportation companies I looked at only went to the port and not to hotels. I may have been able to save some money by going to the port first then to my hotel but thought it was too much of a hassle. So, I took Uber.

On the way back to the airport I took https://www.cortrans-shuttle.com for $25.

Hi, I just finished my cruise and time on Cococay and Blue Lagoon Island, and can say there were no no-see-ums. I’m bug bite free! That includes mosquitoes and other biting bugs. 

Do they have luggage tags at the terminal? My printer broke and I have a cruise in 2 days. Was wondering if I need to go find a printer or if I can get a tag at the terminal. Thank you!

One thing that I wonder about the club that isn’t 100% clear to me, and would make it worth it, is do they have servers that bring your drinks right to your beach chair? Having that extra service would be nice.

If they do have servers, do you tip them at the end of the day?

I bought the Key and it allows me an earlier check in time. 

When I checked in online the earliest I could get was 12:00 and that is my official check in on my documents. But, I got an email this week for the Key, and it said I can check in at 11:30 - 12:00 with the other people who have the Key. 

Kinda off topic, but when does the online check-in open?

For my cruise on Independence end of Feb, I got a 12:00 check-in.
