  1. So... I signed up for the credit card, spent the money and redeemed the sign on bonus points for OBC, and they showed up on my cruise planner pretty quickly after redemption. I did one $250 redemption and one $50 redemption. Then my wife (staying in same room and on the same reservation) also signed up for the card and redeemed the points for OBC, but hers have not shown up. I didn't see any rules prohibiting this... Does anyone know it it's allowed? looking to maximize my OBC
  2. I booked a jr suite on adventure out of Galveston (4 nights) during a double points promotion that sailed this past Jan. Essentially earning quadruple points. It was cheapest ive ever seen a suite (my family of 5 cruised for about $1800. Thats with a jr suite and an interior room(basically $90/person/day). So it was worth it to me on that particular cruise. The points got me into Platinum status, which got me free parking in Vegas via MGM tier matching. The room benefits were nice, but in normal times im more of an interior room guy. Im trying to get to Diamond some day without breaking the bank and this was the best opportunity ive seen to do so. Couldn't pass up that deal. And ive never seen such cheap suites. Without those factors, it wouldnt be "worth it" to me. Maybe if they offer double points again, during the slow season, and during a global pandemic. If i had to do it again(and had the vacation days) i would have done b2b2b and fast tracked my way to Diamond.
  3. This. You get the double points for the junior suite. For more reference from RC: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/how-many-cruise-points-will-i-earn For instance, My last cruise I booked a junior suite with 2 occupants during a double points promotion and received 16 points for a 4 night cruise. (2 points per night for booking a suite *2 for booking during a promotion = 4 points per night * 4 nights = 16 points.). I was traveling with my family of 5 and also booked an interior stateroom that can fit 4. If I had to do it again, I would have put everyone but me in the interior room. Then had an extra key made to give to my wife. Then I would have gotten 24 points (3/night for booking a solo suite * 2 (double points promotion) *4 (nights)=24), instead of 16.
  4. I didn't mention it, but another perk to the junior suite is an in-room espresso machine with complimentary espresso. It's convenient if you drink espresso/coffee to not have to leave the room to get your caffeine fix in the morning, if that's your thing.
  5. Hi, I just got back from booking a Junior Suite on Adventure of the seas Jan 17-21. I did not do the royal up program (booked it with the original reservation so that I could choose my room, as I wanted the room to be close to that of our kids), and had never stayed in anything but an interior room prior. Adventure had the cheapest suites I'd ever seen. I can tell you the difference between a balcony and a junior suite on that boat are: 1.A bathtub rather than a shower in the bathroom. This was the 1st time I've ever had a bathtub on a cruise and it was deeper then I expected. 2.More space to move around in. We booked an interior room across the hall from the junior suite and it worked well to have the junior suite as a meeting place. It gets crowded in an interior room with more than say 2 people in it. The junior suite seemed like it could fit all of us comfortably. It has a king bed and a seating area with a pull out couch, a coffee table, and 2 additional chairs. There are also 2 chairs and a table on the balcony, and a pull out chair. 3.A walk in closet with a door and light, This was nice as someone could change in there while someone else was using the bathroom. 4.wider balcony, I believe. I can also tell you that this is an excellent sailing to attempt to bid up. As of a few weeks ago on our sailing there were a ton of open rooms and suites. For reference there is some youtube tours of the junior suite which were exact to what I found in my room.
  6. Just got back from a 4 night cruise from Galveston on Adventure. We docked across from them in Cozumel. It looked busy, but no more busy than a past spring break cruise I went on, on Allure. (That said, you can't really see into many of the common areas while standing on a shorter ship, the hot tub and el loco fresh looked pretty busy, anyway) Looked like they were having a lot of fun, that said, I was glad to be on the boat with only 800 people on it.. I don't like crowds or lines. Plus the service was amazing with so few people.
