Our NSW premier basically demanded Sydney international boarders be opened up to everyone. Our prime minister will only allow Australian citizens only for the time being. Theres a lot of people in the tourist industry that’s not happy. I believe Royal Caribbean are transferring Ovation’s crew to other ships so they can hang on to them. There May be a announcement next week but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Well I am totally confused. Yesterday RC pulled the pin and NSW is expected to announce cruise ships for sydney. I would hate to be Gavin Smith.

I think the decision is made for ovation but what about Radiance? Its in Cadiz,I don’t think it has any plans until Alaska.

Who said Ovation doesn’t already have shore power capacity. Shore power has been on the horizon for a while and it’s a fairly new ship.

San Francisco to Mexico

There’s a couple of articles getting around that the Singapore government is going to offer incentives for Ozzie’s to sail in Singapore. I think they are going to give agents subsidies ,such as accommodation ,travel passes . I believe they will start port calls earlier next year. They are only short cruises,so I’m thinking a few nights of cheap accommodation. Scottie said mid next year is when we can travel. Next month they are going to lift the cap on returning citizens that’s my understanding.

so this is all speculation. This fellow is the head of security for RCG in Sydney and he is genuine I am not saying this isn’t true but after a “conversation” with the “ office” they are not aware that anything is happening. Dec 17th is the date everybody is waiting for. Unless of course Royal has been given the heads up beforehand, (which seems unlikely given way the Govt has been acting).Turnarounds need months of planning and organising so if Royal did know you would assume we would have been told. It does seem a little unusual that the crew (reading the comment, it would appear most of them) were being sent home after Alaska, they normally sign six or eight month contracts although current circumstances may have affected this . It seems to be looking more promising for early next year but nothing confirmed as yet…we are, to a large extent, still in the dark…..but hopeful.

I think the prices will go through the roof when there’s a announcement. Prices have already jumped,a balcony is $300 a night each or more . You need to sell your house for a grand suite.

My head was spinning with all the different FCC’s . Some refundable some not. ‘The thing I hate is if I paid a deposit for a group, I don’t get the credit.Even though my credit card paid it. The credit is in their name and is not transferable. I would hate to be a agent working for love.

Maybe RC is testing the market in China and seeing the interest there.

I’m just relaying a post on CC.It’s not me. The evidence I have if ovation comes to sydney this season. I have a February 5 booking and my agent said RC wants final payment in about 3.5 weeks and it’s not refundable. The agent said it’s very possible. Apparently the repo cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver is still on the go.

A report by someone currently on Ovation. I am currently on the Ovation on the last Alaska cruise. The crew has been told that they will be sent home later this month and will return to Ovation in January for sailings out of Australia. They just received this INFO two days ago.
