I looks like Brilliance of the seas has been pulled out of Sydney for 24-25 season. All port bookings for Sydney and the around Australia cruise have disappeared. So only Ovation in Sydney for 24-25 season. Hopefully it will turn up in Melbourne port bookings.

I have heard a rumour that port Denver has the baggage concierge??

I think Royal will reinvent itself with China and Asia . I think they already are with the Singapore to Tokyo itineraries out with Spectrum.

Spectrum to sail from Hong Kong
Chili replied to mattymay's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Some good news for Spectrum,it’s doing a second trip to Japan with a overnight in Hong Kong! It might become a regular thing, take note I think most of the ports are Oasis capable. I’m pretty sure the Vietnamese ports aren’t. Ship LNG in Singapore,Hong Kong and I believe multiple ports in Japan. Do you think Utopia could slot into this run? -

So ,I’m D+ and I believe I can jump across to MGM Gold from memory??. Could I use that with clubroyale ?
-
I think Utopia has a pretty good chance of heading to Asia. Hong Kong Cruise terminal has Ship LNG ,Shanghai and Singapore also . China dropped its cruise ban in December and I think we can expect Spectrum to be deployed to Hong Kong later this year to start things rolling.

This season has been a bit of a disaster for the pacific islands especially for Quantum. Today Quantum once again dropped Mystery Island, chattering to someone on board they blamed bad weather. The person onboard didn’t think the weather was that bad but none of the islanders turned up after the ship anchored. Between Quantum and Ovation I think there has been only one successful visit to Mystery Island, which is the highlight of the pacific islands. Carnival group doesn’t seem to be having a problem ,I’m starting to think Royal has had a fallout with the locals. Here’s a couple of snap shots off a local agent. Quantum is 20% discounted cheaper than Ovation and Quantum’s not selling very well .

Rooms near stairs and/or elevators — Yay or Nay?
Chili replied to Tee's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
As close as possible to the elevator, never had a problem with noise, who wants to walk a mile to the elevators anyway. -
It probably could but not likely. Melbourne could quite easily fill a radiance class by its self. It’s a pretty big city and is very attractive to overseas tourists. Much more attractive than Brisbane.
-
Voyager class is the biggest ship that can get into Melbourne. I believe Quantam has to much side wind cross section. Its a narrow channel and if the wind is bad ,it could be a bit hazardous. As for Melbourne as a home port ,it would have to be a hundred times better that Brisbane, especially for N.Z . It might be just more Royal hype ,I just thought I would post it.

Spectrum to sail from Hong Kong
Chili replied to mattymay's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
When Royal go back to Hong Kong, I think it will be with Spectrum and probably next year. Singapore has been good to Royal and they won’t be deploying a old ship .It will be Quantum class or better. I don’t think in will be a Oasis just yet and the only ship I can think of is Anthem. Quantum class has been successful in the pacific and another would go well in the long term in Alaska,Los Angeles, Australia ( Lelepa) and possibly even Tokyo. -
Spectrum to sail from Hong Kong
Chili replied to mattymay's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I believe Royal has been engaged with Hong Kong over the past months . If they do send Spectrum to Hong Kong mid year , what will replace it in Singapore is the big mystery. It would have to be a similar class or better. There’s been a bit of speculation of Anthem coming to the pacific but who knows ?? .It could slot straight in place of Spectrum for a year. Utopia could go straight to Asia, there’s plenty of LNG for it. -
Spectrum to sail from Hong Kong

Apparently the Chinese central government has just dropped the cruise ban for Hong Kong and Shanghai. Royal Caribbean might finally get the green light for its cruises to nowhere out of Hong Kong. https://www.china-briefing.com/news/china-travel-restrictions-2021-2022-an-explainer-updated/ https://www.chinatravelnews.com/article/169282 -
There’s nothing wrong with a smaller ship . I don’t think Brisbane is selling nowhere near Sydney but I believe Quantum will stay there to service the private island.
-
But as said the smaller ships are getting to their use by date and Royal is always going to need a class of ships to go through the Panama Canal for Alaska ,And also smaller ports around the world. Also I can see size restrictions in some places like the N.Z. fiords ,we already have restrictions on some of our islands. If Royal limits it self to big ships ,it’s going to not be able to develop new markets in the future. Take ‘India ,one day could be a potential boom market and they can’t really feel out the market with a oasis.

A new cruise terminal for Sydney will be a few years away. Apparently Sydney port authority is in discussion with the cruise lines to create a new birth for cruise ships in port botany. Where is the big question ,probably a temporary one in commercial docks and a then a new cruise terminal. But the more oasis capable ports the better. Something must be in motion because there’s a little town south of Sydney called Eden. N.S.W ports are upgrading it specifically to accommodate a Oasis class.
-
I think the subject is Oasis class down under? Oasis could do the north island from Sydney and I think it would be a good itinerary. Sydney ,Auckland , Tauranga maybe Picton and up to Lelepa. Probably 10 nights but what a itinerary ,it would be the best of everything.
-
Ovation had to hover in the middle of the river in Auckland and tender. A real pain. There was talk years ago of using the container terminal but like Sydney it was privately owned . I think by Patrick. So it seems Royal Caribbean has negotiated a deal to use the container terminal in Auckland. Hopefully with the legislation just past to upgrade Newcastle container movements . Royal might negotiate a deal to use Port Botany container terminal in Sydney. Oassis would quite easily fit into there but check in would have to be off site ,That would be the problem.
-
I have friends who are currently on Ovation in N.Z. They just called ,they are docked in Auckland at the container terminal and apparently they where told, the container terminal can take a Oasis. There’s a shuttle bus into the city but they said must better that tendering. So one more Oasis port for down under.
