  1. We booked a car, for a little bit over the cab rate. A small splurge but happy that we will have someone waiting for us to take us to the hotel, after a VERY long day coming from the West Coast with a 6:30am departure and late afternoon arrival in Nassau
  2. Op asked about vaccinated people that are under 16 — ie, are they bending the age rules for the unique situation of current sailing protocols
  3. There is also a decent Mexican restaurant close by, and the hotel offers breakfast ( either as part of the room rate or as an optional purchase)
  4. We usually stay at the Crowne Plaza. They some times offer an option to park your car while on the cruise, which is usually cheaper than using the cruise terminal parking. Also, they have a shuttle to the terminal (some room rates include it, so don’t and you pay roughly $5 pp pre covid)
  5. It’s true the data indicates surface transmission is not the issue as we first feared at the beginning. But, even before covid, I definitely preferred my cabin to be sanitized between passengers. And whether you think the hazmat suit is theater, that’s your call, but the crew actually in the situation may feel differently.
  6. Monarch of the Seas — when on our honeymoon back in ‘93, we were docked next to her. We were aboard NCL Seaward. Monarch was so huge in comparison, and just looked utterly amazing. We decided someday we would sail on her. By the time we did, she was no longer queen of the seas, but one of the older, smaller vessels doing 3/4 night runs to Tijuana out of LA. But, we loved of every minute of our time aboard, and are so glad we were able to make that promise come true. She was a beautiful ship
  7. We loved him — it’s obvious both how much he loves what he does, and how important it is to him to provide a safe, quality experience
  8. We did an excursion with Thenford Grey when we were in St. Kitts in 2018. It was very highly recommended, and after going on it, I can see why. Not sure if the current status, but highly recommend considering him. Very professional, well maintained bus, very informative and a good mix of time in each stop.
  9. We had a mixed bag with our Air2Sea experience for our upcoming AOS sailing. We used a TA, we paid immediately for our tickets, and within 24 hours we were able to select our seats on the AA app. I paid to upgrade to the more spacious seats. We then added a second cruise, so changed our return flight to a week later ($150 cheaper for that flight, so we now have a refund coming for that — new flights are already fully paid). For weeks the flights showed as pending on the AA app. Finally had my TA contact them, and she was able to get them to actually ticket the flights. (She said they were scheduled to be ticketed a few weeks later than she was able to get them to do). So, if I hadn’t called, I’d still be waiting. We didn’t change the outgoing flight, but they still bumped us off the seats I had paid for. Took hours on hold to try to get that resolved, and I still had to pay again to get my upgraded seats. The refund for the original upgrade is supposedly approved, just waiting to see it hit my cc. So if you used a TA, have them call. Those seats are going to disappear. And if they oversold the flight, which sounds like maybe they did, you’ll want to be at the airport checking in extra early, to be sure you get your seats. Also, yes, airlines now charge more for seats in more desirable locations, and/or more width and legroom. And the regular economy seats are getting smaller and smaller.
