Alaska Cruise - Booking question
smokeybandit replied to AlexD's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We did a 3rd party whale watching in Juneau. Great trip as we saw at least 12 whales including 5 orcas which the crew said are rare to see that time of year. -
This will never stop. Just as people with colds and other contagious bugs get on ships every day. The big question is how to deal with covid cases on board. The next step is to get rid of the quarantine floors and just let people recover in their rooms like we do everything else that just requires OTC meds and rest to shake.

PCR Saliva Tests (SalivaDirectâ„¢ SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR )
smokeybandit replied to Tahoemom's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Saliva PCR tests weren't trusted early on, but I think we're long past the point of that type being frowned upon -
No refund and Sold under false advertising
smokeybandit replied to Michelle westley's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
October 2019 it was advertised that it was going to happen in spring 2020. Unless the poster googled the ship since then and didn't look at the dates -
You're thinking too hard. Just take the test any time within the 2 days prior to the cruise (assuming your cruise is leaving out of Florida) and your timing will be fine.

So you just decided not to go and you're upset at RC? -
CAll them again, you'll get a different answer

But there's no rule that says you have to be tested in the country that the cruise departs from. There's enough travel hassle right now and I surely wouldn't want to seek out a test after flying to that destination only to risk testing positive in a foreign country.

This varies. Once we were asked for an ID for my son (who has a passport), another time no ID was asked for.
-
The most frustrating thing for me in taking these tests is making sure you're in a room where there won't be any glare when you're asked to scan your QR codes or ID. The proctors must work on a per test started (not completed) basis because I've had a few very quickly say "sorry, can't scan your ID, try again later"
-
For purposes of the testing, nothing.

You can put minors under an adult's account. All adults need their own account.
-
If you have a lab printout I'd bet that could be used despite the language in RC's test FAQs.

Bayport was great if you drove. Lots of ample parking right there.

They aren't a member of the crew that one would expect to tip

I just drafted jayesh, the concierge lounge bartender, coming off serenade today

The only thing Canadian customs cared about at disembarkation was the declarations form. No passport or arrivecan. Unless they got that info from passport data provided by RC

You connect the same way you'd connect to any other wifi. Then when you try to go to a website it'll ask you if you want to buy an internet plan or just use the app for free.

Face Masks on Cruise Ship?
smokeybandit replied to Bellerio2000's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Just got off serenade. I'd say 10-15% were wearing masks, which is lower than I expected
