  1. It should be available from Jan 27 however have alternate plans ready. Lots of people will be booking that out. It will depend on where you on in the list of uploads for the annual certificate.
  2. No reservations needed. Just got off Jewel-smaller ship that has a cinema and they had movies in the theater as well as the pool area. Movie selection this past week: Barbie, Gru minions thing, Latest Indiana Jones, Book Club 2 and some sort of Fast and Furious. There may have been another selction I can't think of. Looks like based on Ampurp85 and my comment that the ships run some different movies. No way to know what will be playing in May
  3. Pricing in the cruise planner can vary by ship, sea vs port day etc. pricing will go up and down, as it does for beverage packages.
  4. Loyalty ambassador onboard can make the change and will tell you it’s 2 weeks for it to go into effect. Meanwhile you’d think on a smaller ship it’s not such a big deal to swap it for another item. See if she’ll swap for a bottle of wine or the tote bag-seriously the tote bag is in the closet next to the toiletry bag
  5. Funny you mention that. On a recent sailing I had gone to the Solarium bistro to seek out the baklava-I must have seen it on a menu or heard someone had it. I stood patiently to tell the maitre'd I'd like to just grab a dessert and leave. He ignored us and then walked away. I took that opporutnity to walk over to the dessert area and snatch a plateful. This goes against my "no dessert" policy, but boy it is so worth it!
  6. Don’t forget you can each carry on a bottle of wine. Additionally you can carry on soda/water following the guidelines https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  7. I’m booked for Alaska this May here are some pics from the cruise planner that include pricing i apologize if they repeat-we are doing a back to back so I grabbed photos from both weeks
  8. Checking to verify my dining request when I board is one of the things on my list of “to do” I actually do have a list! you can check by looking in the app-click on the person icon at the top of the page and then scroll down, or you can go to the dining room and verify your seating arrangements along with the dining time. (Linked seating, shared table, table for 2 etc)
  9. I started in the MDR on one cruise and after two nights went to Windjammer for the rest of the week. I enjoy making a salad with what I want. However I never feel the food is fresh, except the carving station. I actually enjoyed HOT food on the Jewel last week and it was the MDR! I have given up the desserts on cruises but on my last night of our cruise I went to the windjammer after the turkey dinner. Baklava! OMG it was so good. So good that I went back on the last night of my second cruise. I won’t try the other desserts-this was good enough for me!
  10. That’s what happens when fat fingers type and I fail to proof read.
  11. 10 different people posted this in a Facebook group for an upcoming cruise in on. So, no, you’re not alone. i just came back fro B2B Trinidad/tobago which had level 3. Wonderful time. I’d go back in a heartbeat-we did excursion. Lots walked into town. Didn’t hear of anything bad but doesn’t mean it did not happen
  12. I’ve been watching my bartenders. They have been picketing the tips. I’ve noticed this over the last few months. I don’t even see a common tip jar out in the casino. as for tipping helping very little-every little bit helps. What’s mere few dollars to us can be a job difference back home for these folks. For some a “mere few dollars” on a cruise could be too much if they’ve scrimped to save for the cruise. It really is a personal choice and I’m sure staff appreciate it. oh, at the coffee bar the one girl thanked me and went into an explanation how the tips are shared amongst the 5 workers. Idk why she felt the need to share that. I did just give her coworker a bottle of champagne-so I’m not sure if she was hoping for her own bottle or more cash.
  13. I believe the cost is now $10
  14. Answers from club royale are consistently inconsistent. I’ve been told they can only be used for new bookings or if I wanted to do this they would have to reprice the cruise to today’s rate-then apply the discount. (Isn’t that a new cruise!-well technically it’s not but may as well be!)
  15. Your cost is with the airline. The cruise line does not charge to carry on luggage. know your comfort level in dragging around carry on bags (I got one need one with wheels). You can always purchase a checked bag on the way home if you buy souvenirs that take up too much space and need to be in an additional carry on situation, Alaska is a whole other ballgame when it comes to packing. Sweatshirts, jackets etc may take up more space than you think. For airport purposes I use a shopping bag to pack coats into and remove them if they call me out for too many carry ons-they don’t say anything about carrying on a coat. The coats can be a blanket or pillow on the flight. I’d rather not carry them around the airport though-that’s why I use the shopping bags.
  16. I am currently onboard and asked next cruise about the 2025.schedule. She believes “at some point in February “. April of 25 are out but suites are sold out. The ships are going from Florida to LA. I would get used to searching for cruises, or incorporate a travel agent in your plans to do this for you. Personally I’d search on my own as I’m not a trusting type. However, if you have a TA lined up and know the cruise you want is open for booking you can “hand them” the booking. the October bookings would be from LA to Florida. You can play on the Royal website. Pick Port: LA. destinations “Panama canal” and the choices show up. Keep in mind that sometimes when the new cruises are loaded the filters are not great so it may not show in the way you do searches. So you might also try LA and October and leave out Panama Canal and maybe select the longer sailings. Their filters can be wonky at times.
  17. I inquired about this a few months ago and was told at 3 days before sailing. They need to update the manifest. I’ve seen others say 2 days before sailing. At 2 days prior you cannot upload documents into the sailing/do IDK how that would work.
  18. Lol didn’t even realize up close wasn’t there. It’s not something I look for.
  19. The app menus will always reflect the current sailing. So if the ship is doing 7 days when you look at the app that’s the menus you will see, not ours., even when you look at our sailing. Our menus likely won’t load until maybe the day before sailing, if not the day of.
  20. Tacking on Hawaii before this one. Then a few days in Vancouver and doing this B2B
  21. I find it hysterical that people get all worked up over lobster night. It’s one tail. I’ve got people in a FB group for one of my sailings going bonkers because they don’t see it listed in the app. I keep trying to explain how the app is not accurate because the ship is currently on longer sailings than the 7 nights we’ll be doing. If people are basing their happiness on a $2k (or more) cruise on a lobster tail they’ve got problems.
