  1. Wow. When I used a travel agent and traveled with 22 people on Adventure we were all seated at adjacent tables. When we traveled as a group of 18 on Anthem they put us at one long table, in Chic. I imagine the travel agent put notes with the reservation #’s cross referenced on out bookings. note: linking reservations in the app is not the same as having them done on the booking confirmation , that’s what I was told by a dining room manager when they had my mother-in-law, who was on a different reservation but linked in the app, booked in a different dining room than me.
  2. Depending on the time you leave-you may hit crowded subways but the trains into NJ shouldn’t be crowded
  3. You needed to do check in on the app where you could have just selected times and then completed the test later. The website requires all the other info.
  4. Background: I don’t care to be warm, I love the cold. I’m from NY and don’t wear a heavy coat and if I’m out in the cold shoveling snow, no hat-just earmuffs, and I do not zip my jacket. I find the ship to be comfortable. I go carry a lightweight sun-blocking shirt -men’s button down type-that I will throw on if there’s a chilly spot onboard, or a very lightweight sweater. Only a few places come to mind where I’ve needed either- certain areas in a few of the casinos, at the ice show and a few different theaters. Of course if outdoors in a cold environment you might want a jacket but the interior of the ship is kept “comfortable “ for most folks. As for cabins, most can get cold if yours does not contact maintenance and they can address the issue.
  5. I have a current cruise and that’s in the top 4 ID selections for check in.
  6. Yes That’s why if someone doesn’t sail they are returned.
  7. Oasis and Symphony both have a lot to offer. Choosing which one to take would depend on what your friend likes. Shorter cruise or longer? Port preferences? Time off work? Do they get motion sickness? Location of cabin is also important especially on larger ships. You don’t want to tire them out by booking all the way forward or aft. All that walking can be a turn off for some.
  8. Sounds like you are staying at a private home then? Maybe the owners can recommend a limousine service.. here is a link for checking out transportation ideas, bus-subway, railroad etc…https://www.rome2rio.com/map/New-York-JFK-Airport-JFK/New-York-Penn-Station if you get to penn station you can then do the search for going from penn station to Bayonne cruise port. if you are leaving your cars at a hotel then maybe consider changing your hotel reservations to something in the NJ area that has park and cruise included.
  9. did you book with a travel agent? If so contact them if you booked with Royal and If you’ve sailed with Royal before You can start with crown and anchor to get your reservation # (hopefully). Do you know your crown and anchor number that could make it easier. 1 (800) 526-9723 is the crown and anchor number. Then see if they can advise you which department you can call to see if you were issued a future cruise credit or if you were entitled to any type of refund.
  10. Where are you starting from? Where will you be leaving your cars?
  11. If you can find the non alcoholic wine you should be able to carry it in I would expect the same for O’Douls or the non alcohol Heineken. here is the beverage policy https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy i would also ask to speak to the bar manager (unsure if title) when you board to verify if o’Douls is not included and if so express your dismay. Also email the CEO and let him know your dismay.
  12. Reminds me of when hubby snd I sat through a timeshare spiel ages ago (for free Disney tickets) and the salesman says “oh you’re from NY, well these 2 bedroom units can easily hold 16 people and no one will say anything”. I couldn’t imagine cramming so many people into one place but I most definitely wouldn’t want to leave NY to be in a unit surrounded by large groups on all sides!
  13. If it’s magnets you value don’t hang them. Too many cruises I’ve seen people post in the FB group that someone stole their magnets. I imagine it’s more like a prank, took and moved, but I’ve never heard that they’ve been found.
  14. I have clicked on “remember me” on my phone when logging into RC as well as my laptop. It seems to help, though at times it won’t remember me! However I’ve done so many searches and checking for deals that I now have my C&A number memorized, as well as my hubby’s.
  15. I find it’s important when choosing a cabin to ensure there is a cabin on either side of me, and above and below as well. If there is empty space in any of those places it could be a noisy staff area of mechanical area which can be noise at any given time. Definitely don’t book just below the pool deck or dining rooms snd be leery of booking above the bars. the only “surprise” noise Ive had with my method was anchor noise, so booking all the way forward can mean anchor noise.
  16. It’s really subjective. I keep in touch with a family member nightly. If you have ports where your phone plan works you can check in with people , check email etc.
  17. You can update it in the app, Click on your profile Click on edit check in Click on Travel info Scroll and you’ll be able to see item 7 expenses and this is where you can update your card.
  18. If the cabin is adjacent to or directly across from you you may be able to no show the husband, depending on the age of the kid. If the kid is “too young” then n his cabin and the one in yours is older you can swap the kids. Ideally you have a connecting cabin where you can open the interior door. If you booked with a travel agent reach out to them, if you booked with Royal then you need to call them.
  19. Royal only recognizes your age when you board. They will not adjust a seapass card to reflect 21 when you turn 21 during the cruise.
  20. The docs get emailed about 30 days prior to your cruise you can also find them in your account, once they become available by logging into royal Caribbean, look at upcoming cruises and then click on “view more details”” and then you’ll see what’s in the pic to be able to view your docs and print your luggage tags
  21. I hope your cabins are somewhat close together. Had they placed you on 4 different decks spread out between forward and aft I imagine you would be more upset. should you decide you like Royal, despite your cabin location, then next time you book you can decide if it’s worth booking a GTY or just picking your cabin
