  1. Ask him what he got last week! If it’s less than 10 he’s on his way to retraining if you give him less than 10 as well. I think it’s close to a “3 strikes you’re on probation” or out” type of system
  2. I booked it for 3 upcoming cruises. One cruise is with my young adult kids. They will all be of age, I don’t book excursions for them typically, so this will be a nice thing to try. The second is with a friend, and the third is Easter break with the husband. I figure book now and if it’s “that bad” I can cancel later, otherwise their dynamic pricing might be at double or more if I decided to wait. I feel like this will be like the beach club during the Covid comeback…priced low enough to try it out and then it will become untouchable. If my Feb of ‘25 sailing had it to book at all I’d consider that too. Easter break was $20 more than each of my 2 February cruises. I am hoping the Diamond, D+ and Pinnacle vouchers will work here
  3. Always check in for the second half of a B2B, if for some reason you can’t make the first 1/2 you’ll have a check in time for the second half.
  4. Would be great if it would work to search cruises while onboard
  5. I agree. We’ve received text/notifications a few times about showing up one or two hours later than our original check in. Don’t know if it happens for all late cruises or if everyone has their cells set for notifications
  6. Backups to park happen when 1. The gates aren’t open to the outdoor lot if the cruise is not one of the 2 big ships or 2. people feel the need to arrive earlier than their check in time.
  7. It’s been pretty smooth at Cape Liberty. They have bathrooms outside the building before you go through security. They have seating areas inside the terminal until they are ready to board the ship, there are bathrooms in that seating area. There are elevators and escalators to bring you up to the ramp for embarking.
  8. I’ve traveled with family, 3 cabins. I hold the passports, therefore they all come up with me. Do one cabin at a time. I’ve never heard them mention cabin type. If very concerned you can write a note to pass along “it’s their first cruise-please don’t mention cabins/it’s a surprise” in NJ you will scan via the app, unless you e printed their set sail pass. You need it at the check in counter and again when you are going to enter “the ship zone” which is typically an area as you leave the terminal to board the ship. If you are linked as stated you will be able to see all set sail passes on the app and you can just swipe to get to each next person. once onboard the cabins typically open after 1pm, could be close to 2pm-it depends on the ship and port. enjoy!!
  9. Open balcony doors are overrated. You can’t sit in your chair and them in theirs and see each other unless you each drag your chair right up to the rail. It’s only convenient to go from cabin to cabin without going into the hallway.
  10. If on an Oasis class and have the issue with deck 6 not going through use either 5 -browse the shops or 8-through the park! Any time in that park is great!
  11. Been there almost 2 dozen times and saw the balloon up twice., and not even all day, just early morning. Whoever pitched the idea and those who agreed to build that should have list their job! (Not serious, but what a waste)
  12. Would I take the offer? yes, but I can fit this in next year, unlike you. Reimbursed non refundable airfare-score!! Reimbursed non refundable hotel-score ! A full cruise refund? Bring it on! AND a FCC of the same value?!-is it Christmas?! I’d price out hotel, air and next years cruise if it’s all available and determine if it’s “worth it”. also note this offer is subject to availability. Leaves me wondering if it’s a certain cabin category they need to accept or if it’s a mixture, and how many cabins are they looking to cancel?
  13. There has been significant increases in price and if your sailing is a school break and/or almost sold out the odds of a larger discounted price tend to go down. You may need to evaluate how much you plan to drink to determine if the higher cost still holds value. Mixed drinks are now $14 plus the $18% gratuity putting them at roughly $16.50 per drink. font forget you can carry on a standard size bottle of wine per adult and soda/water within the restrictions. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  14. I agree. Though my sadness was due to finally being eligible for a free upgrade, not a random one, and I asked when the restart happened and ships were sailing at 30% capacity and was told no, the excuse being Covid. I tend to think that since the Royal up program was already in place that no free upgrades were allowed. Though I have heard of a few random upgrades on one of my sailings post Covid. Oh well, I try to pick the exact location on a sailing where I will be happy and the upgrade bids will potentially have me in a cabin location I don’t be happy with
  15. Embrace Oasis and all it has to offer. My guest stop is typically Central Park and I grab the Kimmelwick (sp?) sandwich. It’s roast beef. This past year the quality isn’t what it used to be but it’s still something different and Central Park is beautiful.
  16. @steverk @BrianB I’ll be onboard with you. Not looking forward to the swells. I’ll be one of the green peopleI have my antiemetics packed along with some ginger. Since this port is driveable I might add some summer clothes/pool float in a small luggage but it doesn’t seem we will be able to go south….so not sure I should bother. I can say this, if I don’t bavk a bag of summer clothes we WILL go somewhere warm!
  17. You can carry on a 12 pack of soda/water/type drinks. Better yet, he’s 8-if he’s capable gave him carry it on. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  18. The “old days” just after Covid it would be to book entertainment immediately upon boarding. . Now that’s pretty much done on the website -about 45 days or so before sailing is when that opens on the website Muster station immediately to scan in-though on some ships personnel may not be in place until 11. (On the way to the ship watch the 2 mandatory videos) main dining room. Ensure your reservation is correct. You can also see this in the app once you connect to ship WiFi in regards to your dining time. I’ve had linked reservations where our tables were in separate dining rooms (Anthem) I’ve been placed at a solo table when I had requested a shared table. I’ve been placed into my time dining when my booking confirmation had a fixed early dining time. So I always check in to see what the situation is. internet assistance-if needed. They can go over phone settings to ensure your phone is set to not continuously drop the wifi. Connect to ship WiFi!! To be able to use the app and chat with others grab a coffee, drink, something to eat and go over the app daily planner and schedule the items you are interested in. Ensure notifications are on for the app and it will send you a notification about 30 minutes before the event. If I’m on an Oasis class ship I sit in Central Park to do this. casino player? I go and take a pic of the points list-to see how many casino points will get a free cruise. I also walk around to see the layout and the games. once we have access to our cabins I unpack my carry on and take a walk down the hallway to see if my checked bag is banging out-if it is I’ll drag it back to my cabin and unpack it. I leave a note for my stateroom attendant in case I don’t see them the first day. 1. Add memory foam topper to the one side of the bed. 2. Which cleaning service I wish to have -morning or night. I don’t typically book specialty dining onboard, nor the beverage package-so that’s not on my list.
  19. I believe every ship does these but there is no facilitator. I’ve been to these where it’s held at the same time as trivia. I’d say it’s like solo travelers are like an afterthought, “ oh yeah-let’s list then to be at the R bar”. But how do you know who’s who if it’s a venue running events, or happens to be crowded due to pre dinner/show drinks? I’d say they are missing out on a revenue stream by not truly engaging the solo crowd but realize they prefer a family in a cabin rather than a solo paying for 2 in a cabin as they are missing the second persons revenue from beverages, internet, excursions etc.
  20. Disregard my extended reply. next cruise can’t help you.
  21. Create an event on the Facebook group for your sailing. I’ve met wonderful people doing that. We would meet for morning trivia )I’m not a morning person but forced myself to go) and we arranged to dine together at dinner. It was nice to have the rest of the day to myself , if I chose to. Some of us would also get together for other onboard activities and shows, and create a group chat in the RC app. Note: the app chat is not all that! (Somewhat unpredictable or reliable)
  22. next cruise only books cruises or open reservations they do not deal with changes Your situation may be slightly complicated and I’m not sure I understand you have 2 comps booked for the same weekend? If your name is on both they will cancel one . there is no penalty for cancelling a casino comp, you would only lose $ on upgraded cabins. assuming you paid for one cabin? who holds your reservation? The comped cruise would be held via club Royale-the “casino people”. Your paid for cruise might go back to the travel agent who was your agent when you sailed and booked-unless you did the paperwork to remove that agent ,if there was one) Id call the casino line (club Royale) to see if they have both bookings and what they may be able to do to help you out, if anything. also you should check Club Royale to see if you have any comps coming up that are usable -you can ask when you call but it’s so much easier if you know your offers when you call. casino line: 1 (888) 561-2234 m-f 8am-10pm weekends are shorter hours but it has not been casino agents answering on the weekends and the staff that handles “regular non casino bookings” are clueless on the casino booking way of doing things 8 am is typically the best time to get through quickly with a knowledgeable employee. If the casino line does not hold your booking they will get you connected with the correct person. offers: https://clubroyaleoffers.com/
  23. Since she is 4 she is still with an adult all day. What drink package do you get? Perhaps you can split a hi-c with her?
  24. Yes. When you board head to any of the locations that book specialty dining and discuss your wishes and they will guide you
  25. I was not privy, and it’s a great compensation- however people do book stays post cruise. Additionally those waiting to get on the next leg of the flight-would be at the other end of where the ship currently is, with some having flown in early to sightsee prior to cruising.
