I was on a ship last week and there was no issue with magnets of any kind. That includes hooks, clips and refrigerator magnets.

Lackluster West Coast Itineraries
steverk replied to SoCalYeags's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I enjoyed talking about cruising whenever I'm on a ship. And I always find it amusing how everyone complains there aren't enough destinations from their favorite embarkation port. That's even true from Florida, which has regular cruises to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean in addition to the Bahamas I'm not saying anyone is wrong or unjustified in these complaints. I'm saying there's only so much Royal can do. And when they do develop a new destination, we get tired of it as well. -
What is your opinion of Adventure of the Seas
steverk replied to BreakingWaves's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think so. Adventure is a large ship with tons going on. -

I like Adventure! Great ship. You mention that you have yet to sail a star class ship. In that case, I assume you were on one of the Freedom ships (Liberty, Freedom, Independence) or Voyager ships (Voyager, Mariner, Navigator, Explorer, Adventure). If that's correct, you'll be surprised how similar they are. The same layout and decor. Mostly the same features. Enjoy your cruise! -

Proof of measles vaccine now required for Rotan
steverk replied to steverk's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Ditto on proving vaccination. I'm sure i was either vaccinated or had the disease. Proving that? Not sure i can. Even so. I'm glad I watched the video so I can be prepared. -
4 device Internet is a very good price on many of my sailings.

The Sudden Reduction of Half of RC's Fleet
steverk replied to Thumper44's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I don't think you're talking just boutique ports. Barcelona Spain is a major port that's moving toward restricting ships and ship sizes. You can also add Juneau Alaska, Venice Italy and Grand Cayman off the top of my head. -
The Sudden Reduction of Half of RC's Fleet
steverk replied to Thumper44's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
On the other hand, we se more and more ports balking at the number of cruise ship passengers and some are even restricting the size and number of ships in port. Economy of scale is great and all, but it's not all roses. -

I just checked some of my planner purchases. Several of my sailings have 4 device internet for less than $50 today. -
Booked a B2B and Have to Change Rooms
steverk replied to Kelseylovestocruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes. Easy peasy. Talk to your stateroom attendant. He/she will move your luggage to the new room. Sometimes they even move your hanging items without you even having to pack them -
Will I like Oasis after going on Icon

No matter what ship you use, concentrate on the great things it offers rather than things you might miss. Then you'll have a great time on any ship! -
My wife thinks there's one on the centrum, near Cafe Latitudes. But it has been a while since we've been on Jewel.

I guess it depends on how big you want the suitcases. For 7 nights, I usually cram it in a 21" carry on. For longer, I use something like this https://www.walmart.com/ip/iFLY-Hardside-Fibertech-Luggage-28-Checked-Luggage-Rose-Gold/275777816. It's max size for checked baggage, fits under the bed, holds up pretty well and is relatively cheap. However, you don't want too many in your room as they are large.

I've never won a move up, but I did get an unexpected upgrade recently. I booked a prime veranda on Solstice for spring 2027. Recently, I was informed they are reclassifying the cabin as a concierge. So I keep my chosen room and get concierge benefits.

Quick GTY Room question for the pro's
steverk replied to Robert M's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I suspect it's somewhere in the middle. Cover all of the gty Jr. Suites, then do the royal ups for jr. Suites. Repeat for balconies, ocean view, etc. -
Quick GTY Room question for the pro's
steverk replied to Robert M's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I've seen this many times before. I think it means the ship is very full and they don't want to reserve any more specific rooms.
