  1. I'm catching up on my youtube. La lido loca is reporting that Seabourn is now changing to a use t or lose it loyalty program with a major spending component.
  2. I was on a ship last week and there was no issue with magnets of any kind. That includes hooks, clips and refrigerator magnets.
  3. I enjoyed talking about cruising whenever I'm on a ship. And I always find it amusing how everyone complains there aren't enough destinations from their favorite embarkation port. That's even true from Florida, which has regular cruises to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean in addition to the Bahamas I'm not saying anyone is wrong or unjustified in these complaints. I'm saying there's only so much Royal can do. And when they do develop a new destination, we get tired of it as well.
  4. I think so. Adventure is a large ship with tons going on.
  5. I like Adventure! Great ship. You mention that you have yet to sail a star class ship. In that case, I assume you were on one of the Freedom ships (Liberty, Freedom, Independence) or Voyager ships (Voyager, Mariner, Navigator, Explorer, Adventure). If that's correct, you'll be surprised how similar they are. The same layout and decor. Mostly the same features. Enjoy your cruise!
  6. That's great news! Where did you find this?
  7. I haven't specifically read Carnivals new policy, but I've paid attention. Most commentary equates "requalify" with earn it all over again. Meaning if you have 70 nights to get whatever level, you'll need that every few years to remain at that level. Has anyone seen anything different?
  8. I didn't, but i assume they're simply trying to evaluate if status matching is accomplishing their goals.
  9. Ditto on proving vaccination. I'm sure i was either vaccinated or had the disease. Proving that? Not sure i can. Even so. I'm glad I watched the video so I can be prepared.
  10. I saw this on the JJ Cruise youtube channel. They're usually very reliable
  11. 4 device Internet is a very good price on many of my sailings.
  12. I don't think you're talking just boutique ports. Barcelona Spain is a major port that's moving toward restricting ships and ship sizes. You can also add Juneau Alaska, Venice Italy and Grand Cayman off the top of my head.
  13. On the other hand, we se more and more ports balking at the number of cruise ship passengers and some are even restricting the size and number of ships in port. Economy of scale is great and all, but it's not all roses.
  14. While I don't expect major changes to C&A anytime soon, Royal does have some issues that will require changes at some point. For example, there's crowding in the crown and concierge lounges. How will Royal adjust for this? Time will tell. Meanwhile, I don't want to give ideas that we won't like!
  15. I just checked some of my planner purchases. Several of my sailings have 4 device internet for less than $50 today.
  16. I may be lucky, but I had several booked and got double points on every single one.
  17. Yes. Easy peasy. Talk to your stateroom attendant. He/she will move your luggage to the new room. Sometimes they even move your hanging items without you even having to pack them
  18. I've heard the ATS are noisy. Does anyone know if this is true?
  19. No matter what ship you use, concentrate on the great things it offers rather than things you might miss. Then you'll have a great time on any ship!
  20. My wife thinks there's one on the centrum, near Cafe Latitudes. But it has been a while since we've been on Jewel.
  21. I guess it depends on how big you want the suitcases. For 7 nights, I usually cram it in a 21" carry on. For longer, I use something like this https://www.walmart.com/ip/iFLY-Hardside-Fibertech-Luggage-28-Checked-Luggage-Rose-Gold/275777816. It's max size for checked baggage, fits under the bed, holds up pretty well and is relatively cheap. However, you don't want too many in your room as they are large.
  22. I've never won a move up, but I did get an unexpected upgrade recently. I booked a prime veranda on Solstice for spring 2027. Recently, I was informed they are reclassifying the cabin as a concierge. So I keep my chosen room and get concierge benefits.
  23. See the first story in this video.
  24. I suspect it's somewhere in the middle. Cover all of the gty Jr. Suites, then do the royal ups for jr. Suites. Repeat for balconies, ocean view, etc.
  25. I've seen this many times before. I think it means the ship is very full and they don't want to reserve any more specific rooms.
