  1. I wondered if they would ramp up staffing in AO to accomodate. Good to hear! You nailed it. My parents are joining us, as well as my brother and sister in law. We will be those adults rivaling the college kids (while our kids are oblivious to our shenanigans in AO)....lol.
  2. *Update* for those interested. Royal Caribbean has officially denied the transfer of my reservation, because its paid in full. LESSON LEARNED....even if you can, dont pay in full till after you transfer to a Travel Agent! Too bad. I was really hoping it would work out with MEI. Ill still try to use them in the future.
  3. Only so many people you can put on a ship, right? Any idea what the occupancy average is for RC cruises? I imagine over holidays, were talking a full ship. Other times, not so much.
  4. Having been on Vision, you will be able to speak to one of my hopes. My hope is that since Rhapsody is a smallER ship, it will be less people to compete with for things? I knew sailing over Spring Break all but insured a full ship.....so sailing on a smaller ship eases that, in my mind?
  5. I also have to assume thats in Mexican Pesos? lol
  6. Something else to think about.....has anyone cruised in Latin America countries, and noticed a difference in the ports for Semana Santa (week of Easter)? I know in Honduras, Semana Santa is a HUGE deal, and places like Tela and La Ceiba get VERY BUSY during the week. Would imagine that spills into Roatan.
  7. Spring Break, for public schools where we are, is usually the week before or week after Easter.......whenever that may be.
  8. Check out the Royal Caribbean app and Royal iQ app.....
  9. I have never had a bad cruise either, but my # of 5 pales in comparison to yours. I suspect it will be a great trip...but the crew im traveling with doesnt have kids, so its a concern to me that they arent overwhelmed by the increase in shin kickers. Im taking precautions by booking excursions already, and planning as much as possible. Rock Hill IS great....and getting better. I grew up in the Charlotte area (Lincolnton, NC) and moved to Fort Mill, SC in 09 after getting married. Moved to RH in '15 after having our second son, in order to gain more home, yard, etc..... Couldnt be more please with it. Now, with the Panthers building their headquarters and practice facilities here.....keeps getting better!!!!
  10. Sailing out of Tampa, April 04, on Rhapsody. SPRING BREAK for the kiddos. Curious as to how......crazy.......it will be? Will I regret it (doubtful....its still a cruise)? Will it be fine (aka. will i drink more)? Will my kids be happy because of more kids to play with in AO? Looking to the all RC knowing board, here, for thoughts....
  11. AMEN! I must be easy to please, because I dont care where my room is, as long as im ON THAT BOAT!
  12. Awesome review! Im aiming to be less than 98 and 1/2 % functional when I leave. lol
  13. High praise! On Rhapsody in April, and Im doing Maya Chan in Cozumel, also, and am looking forward to both!
  14. Amapala, Honduras.....but im partial to Honduras, as my wife is from there. Its located on an island on the Pacific side. Its a newer port, and would love to see RCCL bring MORE tourism dollars to the country and people of Honduras, as they desperately need it.
  15. Have heard its great. All Inclusive for the price, cant beat THAT....but we booked Nachi Cocom (next door) due to all I had read about crowds at Mr. Sanchos. It is my understanding that they barely limit the amount of guests to somewhere around 400 (correct me, please, someone)? Nachi Cocom is around 150. With 8 ships in port the day Im there....we are trying to avoid a ton of people.
  16. NEVER TRUST TECHNOLOGY, completely. Ive had too many phones go out for no reason to trust anything to JUST my phone. I use my phone for tickets to EVERYTHING, but still always have backup printed in my pocket. I have this ridiculous fear that on my way into an event, or getting on a plane, or something....THAT is the moment my phone will get stuck in a boot loop, or something.
  17. I have never done any specialty dining. I love the classic MDR experience (knowing my waiter, trying different foods, etc....) and I cant see paying for food when great food has already been paid for? I will admit ive been accused of not having a discernible palate. Im not a foody, and food is fuel to me. Just my two cents....
  18. Awesome! Thats the first Id heard about a seperate Cruise Compass. I hope they enjoy it as much as you did!
  19. Good to hear AO is better received by the kids than other cruise camps. At this point, the inability to communicate is my only reservation, honestly. I dont consider us helicopter parents, by any means (said every helicopter parent)....but it would be nice to know I can be reached for some reason. Im sure it will be fine, though.
  20. I was well within 60 days. I dont think its OVER yet....as once it came back denied, Kelley said she was going to try to work to see if we can overcome that. Waiting to hear. Again, my brief interaction was extremely pleasant and I asked Kelley a lot of questions which she answered quickly and fully.
  21. Just so everyone is aware: I attempted to transfer my reservation to MEI Travel, after hearing all the praise and kudos from basically everyone on the podcast and boards. I learned that if youve already paid for your cruise in full, you cannot transfer. You can only transfer as long as there is a balance remaining. Kelley H. was STILL awesome to work with, and communicate with, in the short time we did. I will definitely use one, and probably MEI, in the future.
  22. I am looking into purchasing short distance (required) walkie talkies for the cruise, and having my 8 year old keep one with him. Will they allow that in AO, or do they have some way to get in touch with me if something were to happen to either child?
