  1. Conflicted if getting in at an absurd position to keep me holding the bag for benefits OR getting in at a discount to enjoy profit and benefits? I see myself cruising with royal caribbean indefinitely but sometimes the price action gets really enticing to sell but once I do its hard to get back in again.
  2. just to clarify, any discounted cruise fare would qualify for OBC just not comp'd cruises in general i.e. BOGO deals, 60% off specials, etc?
  3. Now im interested in getting into this rabbit hole. if a cooler has cords or is battery operate its using electricity to maintain a certain temperature ideally keeping items consistently cooled would it be considered a fridge? my definition of a cooler would be a cordless box essentially not able to keep consistent temperature for long, only serves the purposes of prolonging items for perhaps a few more hours? once it can be powered it changes classifications? I feel like wording here is important since royal caribbean can confuse a lot of guest who do not understand their definition/technicalities of a fridge vs cooler
  4. I'm dumbfounded till this day with the sheer number of cruisers annually that the cruising community stays tightly knit. With millions of cruisers a year I still manage to bump into familiar friends from past cruises. Definitely does make it easier for cruisers to recognize you based off any patterns and distinct aesthetics you have on every cruise. Personally for me I have my designated fanny-pak, gambling charms and you can always find me at the casino on ultimate texas holdem tables every night of the cruise HAHA.
  5. sounds like printing $1 bills is a greenlight, they'll never suspect it. all of a sudden we see a splurge of culprits with thousands of $1 single bills HAHA
  6. unfortunately this is only a suggestion for some people LOL I like to wake up around 8am to soak in the hot tubs then swim in the pool versus the solarium to people watch and I've seen multiple guests place their towels/hats/sunglasses on those chairs around 8am and not return until 12-1pm. pool deck was already filled up around 11am and many guest are just perpetually wandering in hopes for a chair. I try my best to notify attendants but for some reason they never removed their belongings, could it be a liability issue?
  7. Funny story relating to finding long lost connections! Me and my S/O met another couple we got along with so well we started doing activities on the ship together on rhapsody OTS year 2000. Myspace was popular back then so we kept in touch there until facebook came out and we lost connection, fast forward from 2000 to 2022 i was on oasis OTS with my S/O and finally bumped into him in the funniest way. I'm a big time "enthusiast" and enjoy frequenting the casinos to wind down after a long day of excursions/activities. I play mostly tables and I ALWAYS carry two lucky charms placed on the tables i'm playing on. (picture below) He was walking past my table and noticed the charm and approached me saying "he used to know a scumbag with that exact charm that ghosted him 20 years ago". At first it didn't click with me and thought he was drunk then after he dropped a few more hints my face lit up with nostaglia! He was able to recognize me only by my lucky charm because there was no way for me to recognize him. 20 years sure has changed us both, unfortunately he was no longer with his partner but we grabbed drinks at the bar and reminiscence/caught up in life. NOW thanks to social media and technology we have kept in touched via multiple platforms (instagram/twitch/discord/twitter/etc) no way to lose him this time. Attached below is one of my two lucky charms (my second one is a lickitung)i always gamble with.
  8. I'm basically considering it a fridge if theres a cord into an outlet lol. the one on navigator OTS i got off of last weekend was cordless. There could be variants to this fridge/cooler they're trying to keep uniformed throughout all their ships.
  9. i hope they havent affected all the bigger ships already, i sailed on wonder + symphony earlier this year it was still there. i'm assuming they're going to swap out fridges from all their ships to coolers.
  10. beautiful, i might just start doing it by your method than the online form submission. copying your template and will let you know how it works for me. thank you!
  11. this is absolutely helpful, i'm a big gambler and been starting to take advantage of casino comp'd cruises rather than booking directly with RC at full fare.
  12. who or where do you send this online form you filled out to? are these extra steps necessary for all sailings for OBC?
  13. That makes sense but i've been invested since a few weeks now at $85/share some decent perks for frequent cruisers and it applies to every sailing.
  14. Much appreciated, I can never find an existing post or thread so I just made my own. Thank you for letting me know, i'll continue digging for them and delete this one if needed!
  15. As title suggest, I have recently invested into RCL and became a shareholder of this stock. Planning on holding long, basically "set it & forget it" approach for this one specifically. I've noticed some publicly traded companies offer perks/discounts/benefits for being a shareholder. A perfect example is AMC offering free large popcorn/refills/ exclusive discounts/points to its shareholders. Link below to see their AMC shareholder link: https://www.amctheatres.com/stockholders MY QUESTIONS: Does royal caribbean offer any benefits or perks for being a shareholder? If they do, where do I go to see their benefits and how to I verify myself as a shareholder. If they do, has anyone taken advantage of their benefits and how do you feel about the program? If they don't, are they planning on incorporating shareholder benefits this in the future? Thanks in advance and if you have any additional helpful insight/comments it would be most appreciated!
  16. Adding to personal hair dryer being allowed on the cruise ships: Be careful to what type of hair dryer you are bringing, our room attendant by policy had to confiscate our hair dryer (left on vanity desk while attendant was cleaning) because it was a "ceramic" style hair dryer which generates more heat and airflow which can be a fire hazard. I completely understood after he explained the potential dangerous of our specific hair dryer and was able to get it back after the cruise. Great learning lesson to take into account the types of hair dryers/curling irons/etc.
  17. Maybe I can shed some light on this, I was chit chatting with our cabin attendant about this too! Not just Navigator OTS but many other smaller ships are slowly transitioning out of compact/mini refrigerators to coolers (no refrigeration) in their efforts to optimize operating cost on smaller ships. (Since the pandemic) If you take a look at the sticker attached to the front panel door you can request for an actual mini-fridge if you require one for medical purposes BUTTTT you can also ask them for one even if you have no medical conditions. Ive requested a mini-fridge and notify them I did not have any medical needs for one, they checked to make sure they had spares, sent a attendant to install it while we were out of the cabin. The attendant stated there was a storage room stacked to the ceiling with mini-fridges and there is more than enough for anyone who requested during the sailing. All the oasis and quantum class ships I've been on have mini-fridges so far but several of the small ships similar to navigator has replaced them with traditional coolers. Those coolers purpose is to extend the coolness of food and beverage for maybe a few hours but definitely not recommended for longer periods of time to avoid bacteria and spoilage. They have mini-fridges prioritized for medical needs guest first but they have a lot of spares, don't be afraid to ask and let them know you have no medical purposes but would like one if available!
  18. Thanks for all the insight on how everyone books their suites and how they got to diamond. By no means was I trying to police how people spend their money or judge, it was just genuine curiosity perhaps not portrayed properly through text!
  19. I never considered them sailing in suites so that would make sense, although how do people normally afford suites? Are they really paying out of pocket because the price seems absurd especially if sailing alone or do people sail in suites via comps/discounts? I sailed in a suite once when I got extremely lucky with a royal bid.
  20. When I read the title I was hoping for some juicy drama regarding infidelity LOL
  21. I'm trying to work out the math but how did you get diamond status with only 7 cruise sailings? Teach me the ways!
  22. Questions regarding a comped cruise through the casino royale players program. I've always booked through a travel agency or directly with royal caribbean but for the first time I booked through casino royale for a comped cruise. The process was fairly easy, the agent asked me for the code provided on the e-mail and my C&A # to confirm my comp cruise. This is for Icon OTS in early March 2024 ocean view balcony room 7-nights western caribbean. Shortly after agent had me pay port/tax fees to lock in the booking the information was already showing on the royal caribbean app and website with my booking reservation #. Everything sounded too good to be true so I wanted to confirm, since they e-mailed a PDF statement of what it would have costed and it was well over $10,000usd for 2 people. All I had to cover was port/tax fees, prepaid gratuities and flight cost to from LAX to MIA. Questions: Am I allowed to change my sailing date after it was booked? Am I allowed to upgrade my cabin and pay the difference? Are there any limitations or difference compared to booking directly with royal caribbean or travel agency? If there are problems would I have to go through casino royale instead of royal caribbean? Has anyone else successfully/consistently booked through casino royale? If anyone has any additional input to add to this topic it would be much appreciated!
  23. Socialized with a passenger couple on my most recent cruise last weekend and the topic brought up was how they had a booked cruise cancelled on them by royal caribbean. I didn't think too much of it aside from sympathizing with them and moving on to more cheerful conversation. Thinking back on this event, I have so many followup questions brewing due to paranoia and my overly cautious nature when it comes to planning my vacations. I've made a list of question I hope someone could help answer in regards to "if" and what to do if royal caribbean cancels your cruise Questions What happens if you've already paid for the cruise, excursions, drink packages, dining packages, prepaid gratuities, port fees/taxes, etc? what happens if you've already paid for round trip flight tickets corresponding to that cruise sailing? Does royal caribbean fairly compensate and what do they compensate for? Does cancellation happen often and reasons that could cause this to happen? Does cancellation happen days or weeks or months prior to sailing date? If anyone has more helpful input to add to this topic it would be most appreciated! Just compiling information to confidently deal with the situation should it ever arise for anyone.
  24. What kind of rates or ship is this? I have never seen it that cheap before.
  25. I assumed the key came with a fast pass system to save time in waiting lines for flowrider/rock climbing/abyss slide/water slide. BUT it does not which would have made it worth it. You still have to line up and all the other benefits seemed almost useless/unnecessary personally to us.
