  1. Its actually sad, if paying for a Royal Suite one should get at minimum Sky Class benefits. Royal really should look at their suites program and standardize it. At least wifi, leave the concierge alone! They are busy enough with the multiple suites and pinnacle guests. Come on Royal, you are bragging about bookings being better then ever, look in your rear view for a second and support your crew as well as your guests. A superior product begets next cruise bookings! Revisit the suites product sooner rather then later. Please?
  2. What a wonderful blog....again. Thank you so much for taking us with you. Have an uneventful and safe day of travel. I am so happy your trip on the Wonder was so joyful! Can't wait for your next adventure!!
  3. Okay again with another stupid question. First finding out I missed out on the Mason Jar last month because I mixed it up with Portside Barbecue (gees) @OCSC Mike and @Lovetocruise2002 what are Ranger cookies? Seriously, you need to take away my RCCL membership card As an aside, my server last month also came from the Symphony. He said he believes Vinay and the "team" will be going onto Icon. When I inquired about the Utopia even the concierges said " no way!" Reason being they hated the quick turn around, they prefer a longer itinerary. Turn around days are the hardest and most stressful for them. I was surprised I thought that would be the opposite as new and more frequent wallets onboard, who knew?!
  4. Wait what?? Okay now I have to try the Mason Jar, so I officially take back my Mason Jar review at this time, lol!!! I was on the Oasis for sure, yikes!!
  5. I just watched an interview with Jason Liberty on CNBC finance show. He assuredly stated he is comfortable raising prices and will continue to do so as guests are paying said prices. My heart sunk.....
  6. First things first, Happy Anniversary We were running around doing senior year stuff, yearbook photos at the studio as per the school, (nothing like in 1984 when I graduated!) So I'm so glad I could catch up! What an amazing couple, love the picture with the swans! CK was amazing, I actually returned home and sent an email to Jason Bayley naming Vinay & Shereen along with our server and concierges. Just because my sailing was not really great, I couldn't blame the aforementioned crew. I wanted to make sure I recognized this team which made me feel like family. I never heard anything back I hope Bayleys office gave them some positive feedback etc. Shereen was the best CK host we ever had! Hands down!! Okay please don't judge but clearly I'm the only person on planet earth who did not enjoy the Mason Jar, phew....okay I said it. We have 2 local family southern kitchens within a stones throw away, and we just kept comparing and I guess we are very lucky, our southern crushes MJ. Sorry, so sorry but wow, I feel better now, lol!! I love that you guys are relaxing, that balcony begs to be utilized, yep I'd be all over that as well. I am so enjoying your blog, Im living vicariously through you, but the good news is my new lawn mower leaves amazing clean lines......great cut
  7. @tonyfsu21 staff has enough to do on this huge ship, no "wonder" they don't pay attention to the deck 18 sundeck anymore. Sadly since it's virtually impossible to keep the hallway doors secured Royal needs to make the doors out to the sun deck open by sea pass card only, like dare I say DCL.. otherwise it will remain if you can find it you can use it. Why pay extra for the amenity if you don't have to. It was unbelievable by probably day 3 that the most favorable loungers were "taken" by guests who had regular sea pass cards. It made me feel like an idiot paying for the suite neighborhood for sure.
  8. I'm not sure if you enjoy red sangria but the sangria they made me in CK was amazing, I'm still thinking about it. It was refreshing, sweet but not overly and no heartburn. Have you noticed if they have secured deck 18? I believe we had 1900 kids as well, I know on our all access tour they told us they ordered more pizza and ice cream for our sailing. I think @Ampurp85 is onto something. The first time families are going all in, I think the Wonder and soon the Icon will replace DCL for sure!
  9. We sailed with 62% first time cruisers. If my math is correct 4323 first timers with 6936 guests. I am sure this was where a vast amount of the "issues" stemmed from. AND being on the free for all deck 18!!! I'm so happy you are having the best time. I truly felt ugly when it appeared I put a damper on your up coming sailing. So, so happy!!!!
  10. Neesas questions & statements, episode 1, lol!: That chicken soup is different then mine just a few weeks ago. Why is that customer service line always like that day 1? Did you like the new location of CK? How about the views? I quite prefer the location on the other Oasis class but the space was beautiful, food good and service impeccable. Is there a secret staircase? I love that cabin! Can you hear the aquashow soundtrack in the cabin? That was one of my least favorite as far as the show audio, wasn't a big fan. I would not want to hear it inside my cabin every show for sure. In comparison loved the ice show. So happy all is well and you are having a great experience, but yes even on my sailing parenting seemed lacking on the ship.
  11. On the Mariner we like to start our sailing with a Jaimes lunch to pour over the app regarding activities for the day. I suggest right as you board find your muster station and check in with your sea pass screenshots or paper copies. Now relax, head up to Jaimes for a quiet less hectic start to your sailing. Your server is a plethora of information, ask him questions while you dine. By the time you finish your relaxed leisurely lunch your cabin should be ready. Family time is precious, enjoy the family experience. FYI Jaimes is an extra cost but we would rather that then fighting for a quiet moment in WJ
  12. Wow! I'd even take travel delays at this point. @Lovetocruise2002 was treated to an amazing Star Class anniversary vacation....Cabash just purchased me a new lawn mower! 31 years and I got a lawn mower, yay!
  13. @OCSC Mike help us out with the storm situations over there. Yesterday here we had our seasonal downpour at about 1700-1900hrs. What is the timing over in Orlando? This might help @Lovetocruise2002 when rescheduling a non stop into MCO. Lightening shuts down TPA almost every afternoon leaving one stuck on the tarmac with what seems like forever. Maybe we all collectively can get her here with no more delays. The Atlanta stop gives me pause, so crowded and hopefully no changing planes. I'm so invested in her getting here, times like these cement why you always fly in EARLY for sure.
  14. No! It's the first flight out! Reason given? Prayers up for your next flight. Standing by hoping for the best! Wait Atlanta? Ugh, then what? Not a fan of that airport.
  15. OMG, that's Cabash yesterday. Cabash and Kiddo went to Typhoon Lagoon to destress, kiddo is taking an Honors Anatomy class as well as volunteering and working so a day in the water park seemed great! ( I had an old gift card so even better) They left early ( I stayed home) and I received multiple pictures recreated from when she was about 4. Oh she was not happy! They closed the park though, about 30,000 steps later so pure blissful exhaustion. But yes we do that photo thing here to, it is fun to compare when it's all over! Safe travels, have an amazing flight.
  16. The Dole Whip was a self service machine situation on the Disney Wish concierge sun deck. The line at the bar was to add rum to them. One professional I saw did make his to enjoy the DCL experience to the max. Grabbed that cup, added a shot of rum, then over to the Dole Whip machine and then a rum floater. That man smiled like crazy, he was fun to watch!
  17. Need, no. Hubby keeps his seapass in his pocket. Now, there are some very pretty ones available. I have several that I wear depending on my day. I have a casual plain black one for knocking around during the day or at the pool. I have four very pretty jeweled types that I wear in the evening to dress up my outfit for the evening. They are easy to pack and I don't have to bother with necklaces in my limited luggage tangling etc. They add an inexpensive "pop" and with my attached Vera Bradly pouch I can also bring extra money for tips, a few tissues and sometime even a small lipstick. I LOVE my lanyards, strange I know!
  18. @Lovetocruise2002 I knew he would prevail!!!!! I have a question already about the cabin. I believe I heard somewhere there is a secret elevator or stair case (uh, eww) for Star Aqua Suites to get to the Suites deck. I ask for feedback regarding this "tale" I am so happy you are sailing in that location, while it might be a little walk it's worth it for that cabin. And I promise you while deck 18 was nice, I personally totally prefer #deck 17 on the previous Oasis class ships. (My reason for choosing @OCSC Mike's cabin for my Utopia sailing.) Deck 18 (my week) did not have that "suite feel". It was a busy space and a bit daunting when the elevator wait was forever ONLY to be packed tight when it finally arrived with people from WJ in tow with plates of food, eww...everyone breathing on it of brother how I digress. The trauma of my sailing, lol!
  19. I for one have full faith in Justin (Mr. Sabrina) He can and will get it done with ease. You all should see his Labadee Bare Foot Beach Hide Out, it's fantastic! Plus no extra $$ for the real estate. Sorry @Lovetocruise2002 but my money is on Hubby pulling ahead in the last seconds.......
  20. We asked while on the Wonders All Access Tour. The staff leader of the tour confirmed on the Oasis class it is a crew area.
  21. I've only dined at the Hibachi table on another ship, I think the Oasis. How does this one work. FYI we don't eat sushi but the menu seems to offer other items we would enjoy. I think it's 30.00 pp what do you get for that? I like to know what to expect ahead of time, kiddo loves Japanese, but we can all do without the "show" Thanks so much!
  22. We have a system as well! The little roller bags stay in tact, the back packs are fair game. I do realize with every sailing, the more I cruise the less I pack. I still don't wear everything I bring and you guys know we bring the small luggage. I learned from @Lovetocruise2002 though & even Cabash abides....we pack our backpacks in a way that in case something happens to the main little one, we could make it work with the essentials. I always have Sabrina and her huge smile in my head while packing, she had no luggage but still having the best time. She was a great cabin neighbor! The @Lovetocruise2002 family emitted JOY no matter where they were. I can't wait to see this cabin....Let's Go!
