  1. Hmmm this is something I never thought of about repricing a cruise. We chose a kind of rare cabin on our Liberty cruise, its a "spacious promenade view" cabin, there are only 4 of them on the Freedom class ships. They are now all sold out on our cruise in October. There is no way for us to check the price but our TA monitors the price and automatically applies any drops. Once a cabin category sells out I guess there is no possibility of a drop? Just a curious question. We LOVE the cabin we booked.
  2. I'm still confused by this move from Anthem in the winter in NJ to Odyssey because of the pool situation. I know Odyssey is Quantum plus or whatever they call it but it just makes little sense here in the winter. Odyssey looks amazing and actually better than Anthem but still doesn't make sense in the winter months here. We were just on Anthem last week and that indoor pool was a life saver and perfect. It was fun to swim with it being freezing outside.
  3. I never sailed in a suite, well once but that was before there was a "coastal kitchen" but the crew on these ships are very understanding and they aren't stupid. I would bet they will allow this and I bet they find you a timeslot to eat even though in Junior suite. This isn't the crews first cruise, this is 100% not the first time they have encountered this scenario. I would go there immediately after boarding and explain the situation the Coastal kitchen staff. Good luck. I HATE that a junior suite is called a suite but treated like a second class citizen. They should remove the suite name altogether and name it something else.
  4. It's 2.6 miles from the terminal, just looked it up. That's doable for sure depending if you like to or can walk. We walked from the terminal to the aquarium and that was pretty far last October. And then on the way back torrential downpour. Oh well, fun memory.
  5. Definitely no excursions to Saleh as of now on my cruise but I'll be on the lookout. We are still 7 months away so I'm sure more will be added as well go here.
  6. I'm gonna wait till more excursions are loaded. We are still like 7 months out. What I would like to do is get to Salem especially because it's October. It's kinda their Xmas their. We went way back on our honeymoon cruise 2009 and it was so much fun. Congested yes but still fun, cool atmosphere. I don't see that excursion anymore though on the last few to Boston.
  7. I'm not worried about it. He was good, he followed directions. He had a deck chair with his stuff. He was in the indoor pool and was right where we left him. Admittedly the lunch was about an hour and half. I felt ok with it and it worked out. Thanks for the input, appreciate it.
  8. I will defend Royal Caribbean in this way. I won't totally let them off the hook but this has crossed my mind. There is a freaking lot, I mean a lot of waste, an absolute ton of food waste. No doubt a company like Royal wants to do things the cheapest way to save money but they might also think why put so much money into food if it's just wasted. By the way I'm one that looks the food still on Royal Caribbean cruises. It's hit or miss but what are you gonna do. I always find something good and I'm satisfied.
  9. I have an interesting question. Our son 10 loves to swim in the pool, be in the pool which Anthem was great for because of the indoor pool on the cold days. He is extremely respectful of others in the pool. Just kinda does his own thing and also we absolutely LOVE that Royal Caribbean has lifeguards at all times. It's just a very nice thing, and comforting thing. On day 7 we had the "taste of Royal" lunch which was actually fun. More fun than I thought, although I don't like steak and Fillet mignon was main course. Never time I will swap that out. I just hate steak, sorry. Anyway our 10 year old had no interest in that of course, I don't blame him. We left him at the pool, we said you don't leave the indoor pool are except to get ice cream right next door and right back to that area. Don't leave with anyone, don't leave at all except for the ice cream and be respectful of everyone. He was great and followed directions. Not a good idea or ok in your book? Just curious because the decision was already made obviously.
  10. Exactly, it's impossible to weed out every single bad apple. The cruise lines can't, the theme parks can't, just because of that scenario, never caught, never charged. Wolf in sheeps clothing.
  11. Yeah we have never ordered 3 and would feel really weird about doing that. How manu people do order 3 can't be much. Two I think it's reasonable at times.
  12. I didn't think of that, but yeah I guess if you truly don't like it you'll have to say I'm done and they'll bring you a second. It has to be the strangest policy I ever heard of. Now unfortunately the way I read Royal Caribbean is this is a first step in charging for a second entree. I hate to be that cynical but I have to go there.
  13. I don't know why but that is hilarious to me. So, so odd. Thanks for the info.
  14. I still find it very strange. Not sure why it would make a difference when they come out but not a huge deal, just odd. I'll keep that in mind that we will tell them we sharing. See if that works. I just find the whole thing so strange.
  15. That has got to be the strangest policy I ever heard of. I thought the way the server started talking that they were charging for it but that wasn't the case, just delayed. That is an odd one that I didn't know about. Thanks for the info.
  16. I forgot to ask this since we have been back off Anthem on Sunday. We have been on many, many cruises now almost all on Royal Caribbean. This is not a huge deal, we just thought it was strange, very strange. We have ordered at times because e didn't know if we would like one dish over another so we not order 2. On Anthem last week we did this one night, and they said as a company rule we can't bring the second dish out till you finish the first dish. I don't ever remember that and found that policy extremely odd. Is this something new? Is it just an Anthem thing?
  17. Has anyone done the "Boston on your own" Excursion? I don't fully understand the excursion but it sounds interesting. We haven't zeroed in on anything yet. Anything you can tell me about it would be great. Thanks.
  18. Yup, a guy at work went through this last year. hoops upon hoops. He gave up and booked a different cruise. I was blown away at how crazy that whole thing was.
  19. We only do free stuff at Coco Cay and it is so much fun! I mean we have so much fun. That island honestly is pure magic. They really hit multiple home runs with that place. Next time we are gonna pay for the water park part just because our son will prob be 12 and will love it. The wave pool is something that I would like. The little guy will be prob be 4 so I'm not sure he will get anything out of it but want to try it next time.
  20. We live in NJ and sailing from NJ. This is the first time I encountered this. So weird.
  21. Ya never know I guess why these things happen. I guess I'll do the same, check both days. We need the earliest boarding time, we have lunch at Chops at 12 noon. We usually get a 10:30 time slot. Thanks for the info, at least it's not just me.
  22. Another one of those weird Royal Caribbean IT things I guess. We sail on Liberty Oct 10-19 and the app says check in is August 25 but the website says August 26th. That's a new one that didn't happen on the last 3 or 4. Which day is it? August 25th app seems like he right one.
  23. I haven't been there in May but like I said it was very cool just last week. I'd bet anything by May 20th it'll be warm, it'll be comfortable. We were there in mid August last time and the water was obviously very nice but holy crap it was hot! I mean hot, hot, hot! We both burned pretty bad which is the reason we wanted to try February but water was too cold for us. Everyone one, at least adults were saying how cold it was. Kids didn't seem to mind one bit. Also the really, really big dump buckets at Splashaway Bay were not being used and I would bet because it was too cold. Those dumb buckets in August were just about the most fun thing ever! I mean that water came down with power and were refreshing and so much fun.
  24. Yeah I'm confused as to why they wouldn't be out for the rest of summer 2025 and fall like Royal Caribbean is out. Might want to do a cruise on Sept and try Celebrity.
  25. Well after losing 80 pounds 7 or 8 years ago one of my rules is not eating after 8PM so that time is out. 5 at home is perfect, on a cruise too early. The new 6:45 times is better but everyone on Earth is going to try to get it. We'll stick to 5 PM but some ships are different aren't they? Anthem just this past week was 5PM but Liberty was 5:30 in October and that 30 minutes makes a big difference to us. We are Liberty again in October and it says 5:30 again. We will NEVER ever do MTD after the debacle on Oasis. I mean never ever. Never got in to the MDR on the first night of our Oasis cruise and broke my 8PM rule buy eating in the Windjammer which is another rule, no Windjammer for dinner. I don't like the buffet for dinner at all, just doesn't feel right. We rarely eat in the Windjammer at all. Too many rude people and too hectic for me.
